Regarding the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway
Posted by Kevin Steinhardt on 14 November 2009 in English. The guided busway is more a BRT scheme than anything, and the specialist bus stops ('stations' in the words of council signage) are more light rapid transit stations than elsewhat. Would using some kind of LRT station tag for station nodes be ..umm...disrespectful to the fact that it's a ... bus?

I'd say that the system is almost an LRT system - it's basically a tram for all intents and purposes, at least while it's in the guideway. I'd say really it needs it's own tag, but that way it'll probably take forever for it to get rendered! Of course, we shouldn't be tagging for the renderer!

So for the stations (what the council-erected fingerposts call them), would ..let's say railway=station (as is used with railway=light_rail etc.) or railway=tram_stop (as is used with tram lines) be wholly inappropriate?
