I am using OpenStreetMap to map the villages and channels linking them. I sometimes get lost when travelling around (by boat), and the paper maps available are out of date with regard to current village locations and names, shapes of islands, and usable channels. Also the satellite photos on OpenStreetMap are much better quality than for Google Earth, which I have tried to use in the past.
