I think I made a mistake in JOSM that broke the relations. I probably edited the ways without fully downloading their relations first.

Ik zie nu dat ik deze routes per ongeluk kapot had gemaakt. Bedankt voor het herstel!

"Ring Zoetermeer" staat bij mij weten nergens zo op de wegwijzers. Bij alle S-wegen hebben we ook geen plaatsnaam achter het S-nummer. (Deze ring heeft een S-schildje met RING i.p.v. een S-nummer.)

Dat de Stadsring nu een lagere classificatie heeft dan Ringweg-Koppel - Ringweg-Kruiskamp klopt overigens ook met de Visie verkeer en vervoer 2030 van de gemeente, en klopt in de parktijk ook met de inrichting van de kruispunten waar deze routes op elkaar aansluiten.

Doordat enkele andere wegen van secondary naar tertiary zijn omgezet, blijven deze wegen nog steeds goed zichtbaar op de kaart.

Met deze wijziging wordt een al te grote hoeveelheid primary in Amersfoort vermeden.

Als ik die per ongeluk had verwijderd - excuus!

Dit is een riviereiland (volledig omsloten door rivieren).

Surely any data processing tool will already have appropriate limitations in place for dealing with nested relations. The Eurozone relation was created 7 months ago and there have been zero complaints about crashing computers. Both the E-road network relation and the main European Union relation exist much longer than that. There are probably many more examples.

This relation has only 19 members so it's not heavy-weight. (This is not a type=boundary relation.) It's also useful to have this relation because it attaches a name and metadata to the query, e.g. making it retrievable by search.

That said, you indirectly do raise a valid question regarding the proper definition of the underlying query: I'm unable to find an authoritative source regarding whether Overseas Countries and Territories are to be considered part of the Eurozone territory. If unable to find an exact definition of the Eurozone, it's probably better to remove this relation.

Lijkt me prima, de parkeerplaats/tankstation en verzorgingsplaats zijn immers al ruimtelijk aan elkaar gekoppeld.

Overigens kan wat meer standaardisatie van tagging van Nederlandse verzorgingsplaatsen geen kwaad. Naast name-tags van tankstations/parkeerplaatsen varieert bijv. ook gebruik van highway=motorway_junction (wanneer wel, wanneer niet, en wat te doen bij combinatie met afrit), wel/geen gebruik van stukjes highway_link=* tussen hoofdweg en verzorgingsplaats (snelwegen meestal wel, minder belangrijke wegen meestal niet), en gebruik van service=* tags op geen/sommige/alle wegen binnen de verzorgingsplaats.

Als je hier ideeën voor hebt, zou dat best een nuttige wiki-pagina kunnen worden.

Over de name-tag van de verzorgingsplaats zijn we het eens:

Parkeerplaatsen binnen verzorgingsplaatsen met name-tag "<wegnummer> <verzorgingsplaats>" is volgens mij de meest gebruikelijke vorm binnen Nederland, naar analogie van "<merk> <wegnummer> <verzorgingsplaats>" voor tankstations, hoewel er inderdaad ook veel zonder name-tag zijn. Al komt dat laatste soms ook omdat het vaak niet één aaneengesloten parkeervlak is.

designation=* is voor een juridische classificatie. Dit is een term uit Nederlandstalige wetgeving (specifiek: de Grondwet en de Wet Wet openbare lichamen Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba).

Juridisch zijn dit openbare lichamen. Bijzondere gemeenten bestaan juridisch niet. Juridisch zijn dit ook geen gemeenten.

Na wat verder zoeken blijkt het niet zo overtuigend als naam als ik dacht, dus ik heb de tag weer weggehaald:

Een alternatieve aanduiding die nationaal (maar niet internationaal) wordt gebruikt om het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden aan te duiden. Het is zeker niet dé naam. Ik twijfelde tussen nat_name en alt_name.

All other Antarctic territorial claims are also tagged as non-administrative regions - this also includes e.g. the "French Southern and Antarctic Lands" OSM relation relation/2186658 from which the actual Antarctic lands are omitted for the same reason.

I therefore undid your use of boundary=administrative on the British Antarctic Territory.

Like other signatories of the Antarctic Treaty, the British government legally cannot do anything that supports its territorial claim and hence justifies tagging with boundary=administrative. All other Antarctic territorial claims are also tagged as non-administrative regions.
