Its an amazing feat to create this path that goes under the highway. How was it done? A combination of satellite imagery and guesswork?

Thanks for fixing that wikimedia_commons link!

Is there a way to enable the tagged imagery in OpenStreetMap without going into Edit mode? The tagged imagery is Esri World Imagery;.gpx data file. I'm looking at Map Layers and its not available there.

Me neither, but laying the cards out to be interpreted on the off chance someone actually comes here and wants some background.

I saw how you changed sand to pebbles at the Fort Washington Beach. I could care less but it really is sand. Unbelievable I know. Go there and see. I asked someone a long time ago where it came from.

I see what you mean about the slipway. I changed it to a beach. I've actually never seen a kayak or canoe using it (unlike Pebble Beach) and I have seen dogs in the water and its the first place I ever swam in the Hudson. Have been there with people from Lamont Doherty seining for fish.

I've been there often and at low tides there is a lot of exposed sand. I'll move the point to be more near the rocks though which one can just about step over. I'll also change the tags to lower case. A slipway means there is a ramp there. There is no ramp, but it would be easy to carry something from the Fort Washington Park Greenway. Thanks for checking it out.

This is the changeset for that other area I was thinking of where there is no ramp.
changeset/145077494
On the north side of the GWB there is a tiny inlet or cove where jetskis can land. Nothing is ever carried there to my knowledge though it could be. I wouldn't label it as a slipway but maybe another feature? Certainly a kayak could land there also.

slipway is fine. I left it.
canoe would be wrong as its not meant to be used where there is a ramp. It would be appropriate at 172nd on the Hudson River. I'll check that out. per the link "For places where a boat (canoe/kayak/stand up paddleboard/row boat/paddle-craft) is carried to and from the water use. It's used for spots without a ramp. "

traveling_rings is what it is. The previous value was meaningless. I suppose I need to add the value for sport?

144852534 about 2 years ago

This is the value of note:
The garden has open hours where non-members can walk through the garden.
There are typical hours but if no members are there, then it really isn't open. I put that there as I didn't know any other place to put it.

in adding the alt_name I unintentionally changed the feature type to an address. I believe it was something of more interest. Looking at the history I could not see what it was. I do see now there are warnings:mismatched... with a value of 1.

I took a wonderful photo of the stairs and statue and a few more of the crosswalk. No clue how to attach.

144485260 about 2 years ago

I was able to edit with Vespucci with the help of the tutorial on YouTube.I never found the square function. I eliminated the attachment of the crosswalk to the stairs and using esri imaging in the winter I was able to better locate the stairs, the crosswalk, and the monument. I believe.

Consider the following the note:
Did that hike counter clockwise on a dry day with many leaves on ground. I am over 70 and was hiking with no poles. Found the leaves slippery and they obscured the path.

This should be square. Can I access that function to make it square from a phone? I took a photo. Can I add the photo?

While said I prefer flowerbed, I don't know how to define it that way. Also the name 104 Panel Garden is certainly not official. It is considered a panel garden and it happens to be at 104. If I say it that way everyone will know what I'm talking about.

144459116 about 2 years ago

Yes. Going with flowerbed for both gardens I defined.

Thanks. That's very helpful. I'll fix this much later tonight.

Thanks for your comments. I did not come up with that name but certainly don't know if its official. Its how I've heard it described by members of the Bronx River Alliance and NYC Department of Parks. There's a bridge over the path below that carries the Bronx River Parkway that may also be the Burke Avenue Bridge. I did a web search on it and came up with many links for both.

This is my first edit and was unsure as to what to put in the Description. I'll update per your comments.
