For the "pathless" marking, one needs to go into the iD editor, click on the object of interest and in "Edit feature" look at the box "Trail Visibility", where one option is "No: pathless, excellent orientation skills required". - With respect to the exact point where the trail becomes pathless I chose it where no more thread or markers are visible to me. You can go to Map Layers and enable "Map Data" and then click of the trail section of interest to see where the trail attributes change. Or, also in Map Layers, you can choose the somewhat new Tracetrack Topo View where trails are coded by color and appearance, showing their visibility, hiking difficulty rating and more.

Maybe I misunderstood you the first time: Placer Fork Tr. No. 72 runs predominantly East-West, Willow Fork Tr. No. 104 Northwest-Southeast, and only Placer Fork Shortcut Tr. No. 191 goes North-South. The Shortcut Tr. No. 191 indeed wasn't there on either end 2 years ago when I searched for it. If that's the one you're talking about (please let me know) I can mark it as nonexistent so it won't show up on the map anymore. Thanks.

Which part did you try to find? The uppermost part (above the tree line) that connects to Lobo Peak Trail is indeed marked as "pathless" and gives hikers, backpackers, equestrians only guidance how to best connect between the visible part of Placer Fork Trail and Lobo Peak Trail. And to my knowledge, the Forest Service hasn't abandoned this trail - all it would take is to put up a few cairns to mark the way.

Hi os-emmer, You're absolutely correct; my bad. Thanks for pointing this out. The signs probably shouldn't have a name at all. And the tag "description" needs to be changed to "inscription". You're welcome to fix it as you see fit, or I can take care of it myself in the near future.

Thanks, Jan, for pointing this out. I fixed it and added their website instead where people can find most of what they do and don't accept.
