Hello - thank you for your upload.

May I kindly ask you though - to next time when your edits are spread thin over a vast area - to upload them in separated uploads?

Reason - you're now flagged for QA and reviewing all over the world, including my area - despite the fact you didn't even edited anything even remotely close to me LOL

Thank you

You changed
Green Valley PUJ Terminal
into
Green Valley Apugan PUJ Terminal

the thing is - the Green Valley jeeps has different routes. One route has it's turning point somewhere around Carmel Heights.

Another has the turning point around Pula.

The reason I split them thus - is because they have different routes. Their stop position is also not the same - they're parked next to each other granted - but still not the same.

Granted it's debatable to merge 2 routes into one - yet I think for the sake of customers especially tourists not being aware there's different jeeps - it's better on the map to also split them per route - the stop locations as well - so tourists know there are different jeeps some turn around at Carmel and some drive you all the way to Pula

Is Angel's Pizza already open?

I found their announcement for hiring staff - yet on their official page it's not listed yet as in operation.

https://www.angelspizza.com.ph/locations

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1932269080350504/posts/3508363439407719/

That's from April 28 - job hiring. Doesn't say it's opened already.

Features that are planned in the future - can be mapped - usually we don't - but it's doable - but then you need to properly set the tagging to let users of OSM know it's not yet open.

Hi - thank you for trying to help - but you made so many edits not following the OSM conventions . Like adding a path on top of a sidewalk..

or totally screwing up existing jeep lines and adding Long Long PUJ terminal to the NPC jeep line..

A lot of work for me to fix all these errors ..

if you like - I'm willing to sit together with you to show you how to update everything properly.

Thanks for pointing out.

removed it - shouldn't be there of course.. next time if you see such nonsense by me, feel free to remove it.

It's just a typo or false copied tag.. hit delete and that's it :)

yes, thanks for the recommendation - shrubbery is more appropriate *thumbs up*

Will launch JOSM and change it

Well from the link you sent me, pier looks exactly fitting to me.

From the wiki: "A pier is a raised walkway over water supported by pillars made of metal, wood or concrete, or floating and secured using chains"

Looks 100% fitting to me.

Quote from your comment: "commonly used for vessel berthing"

that's not what the wiki says!

Quote from wiki: according to the International Hydrographic Organization, is "a long, narrow structure extending into the water to afford a berthing place for vessels, to serve as a promenade, etc.""

Let's transfer the punctuation of that into a list:
1) vessel berthing
2) promenade
3) etc.

So a pier is not defined as you probably read only the first value of the punctuation: "vessel berthing", but according to the International Hydrographic Organization it's a whole list of purposes that a pier serves.

And in my understanding the "etc." part of the definition by the IHO I don't see it out-ruling the use of piers to access houses.

that's my interpretation.

I clicked on the link provided to the IHO on that wiki entry - but that's a fake link that doesn't exist sadly - or at least not anymore.

Also - keep in mind these piers where originally constructed for fishermen where they had their houses and boats docked.

Only after very rich Chinese investors came and artificially changed the coastline to dominate the local population and deny them fishing rights and destroy the livelihood of the local Malay fishermen - this became a still tidal influenced area that's still connected to the sea by a narrow canal - but not nearly good enough for fishing boats to actively being used anymore and driving out the fishermen - and thus today used primarily for housing.

But the piers are still the same from the times of before the native population was expunged and exiled by the Chinese investors.

And with buildings=value OSM also has the golden rule we map the buildings as their original intentions are. If the use today is different - than we map that use as such. So a building=church is still building=church, even if today being used as a restaurant or disco or event hall.

So here's my 2 thoughts and/or arguments - why I still believe pier is a better way of tagging these - opposed to "boardwalk" or "bridge"

130358093 almost 3 years ago

Hi, Didn't even know we had a tag "boardwalk" but the thing is - I still think it's a pier looking at the example pictures.

This area used to be coastline - and it's still subject to tidal water rise/fall.

It looks also exactly the same as the piers at Kampung Tanjung Aru Lama and Aru Baru - except maybe they are still at the current coastline directly.

The whole Sutera Harbor is NOT the original coastline - it's newly gained land - the original coastline is basically for this"wetland"

I'd say it's more the "wetland" is a misnomer - it's not really wetland but there's low tide always water and high-tide higher water..

And again, saline water..

So maybe wetland is wrong?

or maybe both pier and wetland is wrong - just copied the classification from other mappers who mapped around KK before me.

That's usually my way of working - I look what others did before me - search on the convention page if it says anything otherwise - if not - then I tag things I see just the way as others did before me.

So if "pier" or "wetland" is right or wrong - I honestly don't know.

it's just - no local Malaysian convention telling me otherwise?
Then I stick to the key/value combinations others used before me for that area.

Cheers - feel free to tag it otherwise if you feel it should

But keep in mind - the boardwalk example I see are all
-1) low to the ground
-2) areas that are wet - but not 24/7 flooded
-3) non-tidal
-4) not directly connected to the salt-water

which both applies to this area

yes - that on very short intervals - it keeps going up and down.. to short to map.. but the ups and down to significant as to assume "flat"

Hello there Kamal2022

There's some issues with our naming scheme. Now I don't speak Kurdish or Arab, but first of all OSM uses ISO 639-1 codes.

ckb - would be ku

For your reference:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_639-1_codes

You may also check on osm.wiki/Multilingual_names

And the general names wiki:

osm.wiki/Names

In this case, if my interpretation is correct, i'd suggest:
name=شەقڵاوە
alt_name=شەقراوە
name:en=Shaqlawa

Also please note:
If you have multiple names for a feature, first try to choose a rich semantic tag like any of the ones in the table (like short_name=*, old_name=* etc.). If none of them works, choose the alt_name=* tag. If there are multiple names that do not fit, alt_name=* can be used with semicolons.

source: osm.wiki/Names

which basically means we try as much as possible to refrain from using semicolons in names. We do use them preferably not at all, but if we have to, then in the alt_name

Generally - please read the wiki or join telegram groups to ask.

Kind regards, and most of all if any questions - feel free to PM local mappers

yeah I know but I add this node planned for deletion anyway.

In the past I made notes but then I always forget something...

So then I figured - in Vespucci I can set my own preset so I won't forget anything.

The downside is then that any node I upload - basically as note - is then basically a note as a node.

And at home I work down the list of nodes I added to have them properly on the map - or deleted.

I know this is a bad way - but at least I won't forget anything as regular notes don't let me use presets.

IF you know a way how I can manipulate Vespucci to have "presets" but not uploading them as a node but a note instead - I'd be really thankful as that was actually my intention in the first place but didn't find a way to do at after many failed attempts.

I already had that one on my radar - keep forgetting to verify it.. as there's currently construction going on and I think they removed one parking area completely now. Will check it when I pass by again. Thanks for reminding me. I'll add a fixme to verify it...

The other parking spaces are not officially marked to park there 4 cars. I just see 4 are parked there by the drivers.. so that's how I came up with the number 4 on these areas.. because the local drivers manage to squeeze 4 there LOL - physical reality on the ground right. I do wonder sometimes how they get in/out of the cars hehehe - but people here are a lot smaller than I am ..

113155805 about 4 years ago

so - that I understand this right.

inscription:1=text
inscription:2=text
inscription:3=text
...

is valid?

113155805 about 4 years ago

as mentioned in the note - I'm happy to learn. I looked it up here when adding the text:

inscription=*

there's no indication for multiple inscriptions there.

But if you would be so kind to teach me exactly what you mean, or update the wiki?

I honestly never seen the usage of a comma in a key

i thought myself already maybe they have something like
osm.wiki/Tag:inscription1=....
osm.wiki/Tag:inscription2=.....

or
osm.wiki/Tag:inscription_1=....
osm.wiki/Tag:inscription_2=....

but couldn't find any references to such

taginfo wasn't helpful either:
https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/inscription#wiki

But if you know of a solution to properly have this tagged, please do share the knowledge..

or update the wiki

or simply modify the inscription directly in OSM and I'll see what you changed so then I know too :)

Thanks for helping coming up with a solution for this dilemma

Obviously I usually do that.. as you can see I got distracted while working in PH - did a few edits back home - and then switched back.

As any reasonable person can instantly recognize that's not my standard way of working but obviously a one time distraction .

Not sure if it were worth it to me to mention to someone if obvious to me someone did something he/she usually doesn't

imagine I had to criticize every single time every single human made once in their life a single error / or least effective way of working ROFLMAO

but yeah, i beg your pardon and bow and kneel and offer my sincerest apologies for a single one-time event where I got distracted and ended up editing 2 different locations at the same time.

113178592 about 4 years ago

the reason is simple:"I live in PH but have a home near Maastricht" LOL

113155805 about 4 years ago

Yes they're part of the inscription.

The inscription tag is max 255 characters thus won't fit.

There's no wikipedia entry, I always map what I see with my own eyes.

So sometimes there's other information on the internet, quite often not since I'm a "map only what I see with my eyes" kind of mapper

No German Dialect is what we speak at home but I also speak Dutch, Russian, German, French and of course English.

Generally I talk English because in this modern world that seems to be the lingua franca and I think it’s more helpful if everyone can understand each other. But sure you can send me info in Dutch as well, eager to learn to contribute to Open StreetMaps properly and I’m always grateful to information and constructive criticism.

Hi thank you for helping me! Yes, it's valid for the tractors of the nearby farm. I changed it to track and tracktype 5
