JOSM photo mapping improvements + London pub next Tuesday
Posted by Harry Wood on 8 January 2010 in English. The JOSM developers recently merged the AgPifoJ plugin into the core software, and last night I was pleased to discover some great little tweaks have been happening to improve the interface of these "photo mapping" features. A separate 'Manual adjust' button makes a lot of sense. Exactly how I was going to do it when I got round to it (never). Who's responsible for this? Give that man* a lolcat! (I'd give my compliments on this mailing list, but I forget how these old mailing list things work) Much credit to the original creator AgPifoJ too of course. Quite small improvements really, but my mapping approach is very much "photo mapping" in JOSM, and I hope that OSM newbies would get as far as trying this out, so any improvements to this feature help immensely.
Some documentation work to do still. I made a start by updating the Photo mapping page.
I was using it last night for a late night editing session. One of many to come, as I work through several sets of traces'n'photos from Brazil holiday excursions (mostly photos from the passenger seat of the car while being chauffeured around by my girlfriend) It's quite nice to have a little cache of editing to do, to see me through the winter. Not really the weather for going out to gather more data as Chris Hill illustrates.
It's not quite as wintry as that in London, but even so our next London Winter Pub meet-up will be a wintry one indeed. If you're in the London area come along on Tuesday. We'll be huddled in a nice warm traditional olde pub near Oxford Circus.

Must have been like walking into a freezer, returning to cold London from your Brazillian Christmas Holiday
