Last week I was away in Switzerland on a working slash snowboarding trip, which was a pretty exhausting combination!
Part of the (placr) work I was doing, between daydreaming about the snowboarding I'd been doing each morning, was getting set up to do android development. In future my work may even involve maps on android (will look into Osmdroid I guess) but initially I was struggling with various more basic things.
As for the morning snowboarding, I thought I'd leave the GPS shenanigans till later in the week, but that was mistake. The weather got colder (seriously cold!) making it very difficult to take gadgets out of pockets, and also killing their batteries. Even so, I was able to make a few additions and corrections to the OpenPisteMap of Scuol (when will it re-render though?).
mmmmmmm piste.
Side note: For photo mapping in JOSM I use the "manual adjust" a lot. Normally I'm more organised, but with a trace starting and stopping spanning several days it doesn't seem to work so well. Maybe some sort of timeline view would help
So that was an intense week, but there's lots going on this week too. I finally got to change the twitter icon for https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/hotosm. Running logo design competitions is surprisingly hard work, but it was worth it. That egg unlogo was really starting to annoy me. See my hot blog post about the logo here

Other news includes a BIG donation and more Open data services announced by MapQuest, and a new XAPI implementation which came and then went again yesterday. Plans are coming together for a hack weekend some time soon. Sign up for that if you fancy some hacking.
...but in the meantime we've got a London pub meet-up TONIGHT!. If you're in the big smoke come along!
