Thanks for getting back to me. Might I suggest you look at JOSM? Splitting ways is easy plus there are plugins for transit. JOSM doesn't create a new way, it just splits the existing. JOSM can be found at https://josm.openstreetmap.de

I'm also reverting this edit as well - the driveway exists.

I reverted this edit. The driveway does exist and can be used by routing software. Because it is a driveway it is considered private but is also tagged as private.
