Hi,

What is the source of the name changes of streets? I have lived in Pokhara for two years and have never heard of 1st Street or 4th Street. I have also closely discussed maps with Pokhara Metropolitan City office and this was never suggested.

And I agree with your overall point.

Might be good to contact folks at OSM Streak.
Hi Gaurav Thapa,

Want to do some mapping and continue your streak? Here is an idea:

✈️ Around the World in Five Minutes

Let's create a changeset with an enormous bounding box. Map something first in [osm.org/#map=5/-48.487/-69.895 South Chile], and then in [osm.org/#map=6/55.912/159.335 Kamchatka].

When done, please head to http://streak.osmz.ru and click on the latest changeset.

Yours,
OSM Streak

Renuka, these comments make zero sense.

Thank you for making the changes. For people of Nepal ward numbers are not anonymous and it is our primary address written in our citizenship cards and passports numbers. For example a person would say they are from Kathmandu-3 or Pokhara-5 on their forms. Wards do not have names and any names given are informal and could confuse people more as there are several neighbourhoods or communities within a ward depending on the rural/urban nature of the ward. So within books if they conflate 'Ramghat' for 'Ward 10' of Pokhara this is incorrect as people identify to areas such as 'Buddha Chowk' and 'Amarsingh Chowk' which are also within Ward 10 and for these people equally representative of the ward as Ramghat. Most of these areas don't have fixed boundaries (only mental) and should be tagged as neighbourhoods and put in points.

The 2014 data is not just old boundary but old old boundary as the local administration boundaries have already been revised twice since this data. For example Pokhara Sub-metropolitan city expanded its boundary in 2015 and then became Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan City in 2017 doubling its area. If you like I can probably share with you the latest wards we have created though these are likely to have some tweaks after the provincial and national elections in two week's time.

Sangkosh is not a ward level administration within newly formed Nilkantha Municipality. If you are using data from MoFALD/LGCDP 2014 it is outdated for most of Nepal. Please revert your changes. Thank you.

Dear Matt,

You have incorrectly marked Cafe Lake Yard as a 20000 square meter property in Pokhara. I am correcting this change. Please be careful when mapping next time. Thank you.
