Hi,
I am grad student and working on the transport network structure of Gorizia in Italy and Nova Gorica in Slovenia. Its very very hard to get a detailed map (1:25000) for that area, because first their digital line maps are not available for free online and second, since its at an international border, the data provided is not detailed with hierarchy of road structure and parity of mapping in the two countries. I am looking for old maps too. But if anybody in here is from that region, can you please update the OpenStreet Maps with the details. I am doing some digitizing of 2006 map by myself from scratch but I am sure things have changed in 13 years. Will be great if that data is provided.

You should contact the Italian mailing list. We (Italian OSM mappers) have an agreement with Friuli-Venezia Giulia to import their digital map into OSM. This should help at least with the italian side of the border.

Or organise a get together event for mappers.
