almost 5 years ago | Thank you for the update, but a link to a public website here chould suffice for now, to allow other mappers to know more about the effort. Also, if this is an organized mapping activity, kindly document your efforts to follow the organized editing guidelines of the OSMF: osm.org/wiki/Organised_Editing_Guidelines
almost 5 years ago | Hi there. So, is this project still going on, including the field work validation?
almost 5 years ago | Like I mentioned earlier, the names I changed was based on what's on the street signs in the area. As is visible in the Mapillary imagery. My practice is, if I find any "St." in street names, I spell them out. If I have information or imagery that shows that they're not on street signs, I remove them. Personally, I agree with @seav that "street" suffixes shouldn't be added, in the same way we follow the convention of not appending "barangay", "sito", "purok" to certain place names (with some exceptions)
almost 5 years ago | Yes, they were removed. 1. That's the accepted convention. 2. The street signs from the Mapillary imagery doesn't indicate "street" as a suffix.
almost 5 years ago | Correction: the link to [0] should be osm.org/wiki/Key:incline
| 97950330 | almost 5 years ago | Interesting data set. How are you measuring these gradients? Also, the tag you should be using is "incline=*" and not "ele=*". Check the wiki page [0] for details. If you like to use OSM with bikes, you might find CyclOSM [1] and CycloFix [2] interesting. There are also other OSM user community channels in the Philippines. The most active one is the Telegram channel [3], but you can find others here [4]. Welcome to OSM! [0]: https://osmorg/wiki/Key:incline

almost 5 years ago | You're right, thank you for catching this. Obviously, I tagged this by mistake. I'll fix it now.
almost 5 years ago | May I know why you're removing the fixme tags on these features without resolving actually resolving them?
almost 5 years ago | Thank you for adding these sitios. Ideally, they're more appropriately tagged as place=neighbourhood + designation = sitio + name=*
almost 5 years ago | path name "to Camp John Hay" might be tagged better with "destination = Camp John Hay". Or, more appropriately with destination:forward and destination:backward respectively. Check out: osm.org/wiki/Key:destination#forward_and_backward By the way, sign posts may be mapped and tagged with information=guidepost.
almost 5 years ago | Hi there. It seems like that many of these elements are more appropriately tagged with recycling_type=container.
almost 5 years ago | Hiking paths in this area looking much better now! Thank you. Re the incline tag. This information is usually paired with the direction of the way/line and should either have a value of up or down, depending on the direction it was drawn. Use incline=up for ways going up the hill in the direction of the way, and incline=down for ways going down the hill in the direction of the way. You shouldn't use both (e.g. incline=up/down)
almost 5 years ago | Hi there. What does the suffix " - md" mean in the convenience stores you've been adding to the map?
almost 5 years ago | Hello. Is the name of this road you modified really just "Do"?
almost 5 years ago | It's meant to be a temporary tag to keep the info the original contributor used. Originally they were using addr:housenumber to make it render, which is not appropriate
about 5 years ago | If you have questions, about the project, or how to use it, please don't hesitate to ask. Also, check out the OSM communities channel in the Philippines osm.org/wiki/ph
| 96099703 | about 5 years ago | Thank you for adding the features in your region @Ngawit. Have you heard of the #OSMaPaaralan project? Perhaps you help verify the location of local schools in Bunawan? Check out the tasks:

about 5 years ago | Hello @BookFriend PH, and welcome to OpenStreetMap! This element you mapped is more appropriately tagged as "shop=books". There's more info here about this type of element: osm.org/wiki/Tag:shop%3Dbooks Other optional but helpful information would be street address, contact information and your websites. Thanks, and we hope you continue contributing to OpenStreetMap! /GOwin
about 5 years ago | Hello. Here's a tip for improving buildings when iD editor: press 'Q' on your keyboard while a building is selected to "square" its corners. https://learnosm.org/en/hot-tips/tracing-rectangular-buildings/
about 5 years ago | One more thing, I was looking around the vicinity of this area and noticed that there are many untraced roads. There's a tool called RapiD which we recommend in OSMaPaaralan, and it leverages AI detection for mapping roads faster, and contributors can help by reviewing or validating them. You might want to check that out, too: https://mapwith.ai/rapid#background=Maxar-Standard&disable_features=points,boundaries,power,past_future&map=16.00/13.5106/123.3712
