Is the whole building occupied by 7-Eleven, or just part of it?

If it isn't, you should leave it as a point/node, and tag the structure as a retail building (building=retail), and putthe building's name (if it has any), and not the name of the locator.

By the way, some local mappers are hoping to organize an informal get together in early January. We don't have the full details yet, but I hope you can join.

Awesome work with your recent edits. Thank you.

I am aware of the limitations of the Maps.Me app, and I'm pretty sure your use of the "viewpoint" tag for the features are temporary.

The relevant tags are:

* Aluminium and Glass is craft=glaziery
* Tire Wizard - shop=tyres
* Cebuana Pera Padala - this is a money service. Is the establishment primarily a pawnshop? shop=pawnbroker; amenity=money_transfer
* Motor rewinding shop = electrical; repair=yes
* Ukay-ukay - shop=clothes; second_hand=yes
* Paint - shop=hardware or shop=doityourself
* Sign maker = what kind?

More references:
* shop=*
* craft=*

Hello there. I've been wondering about this particular account, and similarly named accounts (FGS 2, FGS 4, FGS 5). How are you affiliated with each other?

Also, these settlements may be better tagged with place=neighbourhood, instead of landuse=residential, which also makes them searchable from nominatim.

Check out: place=neighbourhood

Re-tagged as ambulance station

landuse tags are usually applied on subdivisions, not individual lots.

Hi there. Landuse tags are not usually used on individual plots. There are many self-paced learning modules available from http://learnosm.org, to learn the basic and advanced OSM mapping.

There's a tag, old_name, which you can use to retain the name of an object. There's also alt_name, for alternative names.

You can find more info about names at the wiki: osm.wiki/Names

For the building, instead of building=yes, you could be more specific, like building=chapel, especially if it's purposely built as that.

"service_times" refer to schedule of services. More info about this tag: service_times=*

Hi Gerald. Glad to see your contributions in OSM. Also, a belated welcome. :)

Here's a tip: try to avoid abbreviations and acronyms. In this case, this should remain as "Elizabeth Street".

You can read more about that, here: osm.wiki/Names#Abbreviation_.28don.27t_do_it.29

I specifically set it up not to add any data to OSM. I'll look into it further.

A failed experiment. I thought it didn't publish the edit. I'll revert, thank you for the heads-up.

To indicate a building involved in retail (like convenience stores), the tags are as follows: building=retail shop=convenience

Also, since Boljoon is not a city, the preferred address tag would be: addr:town=Boljoon.

Don't forget to square corners, and to make sure that buildings are not connected to another.

Keep on mapping!

Hello there. The description you've been adding to some of the map features are interesting. Thank you for taking the time to add them.

54068905 about 8 years ago

When adding features, there is no need to map features twice. For example, you don't need to add a point for the municipal hall, when you've already defined a polygon to be such. The one that represents the object more accurately, is preferred over another.

Apart from names, you need to classify objects accurately. Health centers are often tagged as amenity=clinic. Gymnasiums are leisure=sports_centre.

Tip: when adding names to features, don't abbreviate (e.g "Patrocinio de Maria Street" instead of "Patrocinio de Maria St."

Also, when working on grids that require you to digitize buildings, for example, don't click the "done" button if it's still incomplete, just use "unlock" and you (or another mapper) can return to it later.
