Mapnik hasn't been working the past few days.

- Merkaartor 13.1 Windoze version
- Use 6.0 API checked, and restarted
- created a single node (name it TEST) and tried to upload that one node
- The small dialog box OPEN Changeset opened
- Stuck at 33%

Totally frustrating! I've been trying to upload my stuff from Merkaartor to no avail. It keeps giving me this message.

I've been wondering why Google / Yahoo has never bothered building a proper map for Jakarta. Now I know why: the city is huge and unplanned, therefore it is not an easy city to map.

I've been wanting to do this a long time. And then yesterday I stumbled upon Openstreetmap inadvertently through Flickr. All along I thought the only way to do this is through Wikimapia!

I'm learning as I go along by working in neighborhoods I'm familiar with. I hope one day we have a Jakarta map that is as detailed as some of the beautiful German maps here.
