Erick is an award-winning environmental scientist and junior researcher currently pursuing his master’s degree in GIS and Remote Sensing at the University of Dar es Salaam. He is the co-founder of GeoTE Tanzania, a youth-led organization dedicated to advancing open data, geospatial innovation, and community empowerment. Erick has collaborated with prominent global initiatives such as YouthMappers and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team to drive impactful projects in conservation, disaster response, and sustainable development. As a committed advocate for youth engagement, he champions strategic applications of geospatial technologies to foster sustainable development and positive change in Tanzania and beyond.
