2 months ago | More so when any development begins in the Ahuriri Farms area. It was supposed to become a Regional Park, but this could be up in the air again given the recent Council Elections. It can't be ruled out yet that it could become a new large Industrial Area for Napier that'll serve the Airport too.
2 months ago | Also changed Parklands marker into a Suburb. It'll probably be recentred to the centre of the Suburb Area when the fate of the Ahuriri Farms area is confirmed.
2 months ago | Also deleted a old farmhouse destroyed by Cyclone Gabrielle.
3 months ago | Yes I was as bicycles aren't allowed through the front of Tamatekapua Wharenui, the maximum destination from one coming in from the western side is the St. Faith's Church as there's a bike stand below the Graveyard there or to one of the residences there or leaving from there heading out via the western sidestreets, but they cannot go past the Wharenui riding it as it disrespects marae protocol. There is "No Bike Signs" on or by the gates surrounding the Marae Atea. It's odd that a bike stand is within the grounds but I think it's for Marae/Church Destination usage only. People hardly bike through this area as such.
4 months ago | No worries, there are several Marae that are more Technical in functioning (like Kirikiriroa Marae in Hamilton) which make it more harder to determine the Wharekai, the Wharenui is the easiest building to distinguish due to it's carvings, rectangle shape or positioning of surrounding details. However I think you should add Wharenui to the end of Toa Rangātira so it reads as "Toa Rangātira Wharenui" here. I say "Wharenui" should be put on all ends of the Wharenui Names just so it is easily identifiable. Just the Name without it can confuse people, so that's why it's needed to clarify it as the Main Marae building as it is the Cultural Heart of Marae, even if others in a Marae Area are used more than it. There are instances where there is 2 Wharenui in 1 Marae such as Apumoana Marae in Rotorua which I reccently updated as an example where I only put the Main Wharenui with the Community Centre tags but not the older, less of focus one, as so to why we can't display the shorter names of Wharenui & other smaller buildings in Marae without adding their Maori Name of their Purpose or until OSM has a Wharenui Icon render created. Cheers.
4 months ago | Hi Zismac, building=wharenui isn't an avaliable tag right now for us to use, but the most appropriate tags for Wharenui across NZ are amenity=community_centre, building=yes & community_centre=meeting_room that defines their usage & prominence better. The amenity=marae tag should only be on the marae's borders unless they are undetermined or being used for another rendering area over the top of it (eg. Kororāreka Marae in Russell). As the Wharenui's name will cover over the Marae's name upon rendering, I suggest you use addr:housename= with the name of the Marae on the Marae's Address Point & shift it out of the way but within the Area still to resolve this issue. In Hawkes Bay, I have done most of the main Maraes which serve as examples for what we must do to render in other Marae appropriately nationwide. It is possible that other Community Centres exist in the same area but community_centre=meeting_room differentiates Wharenui from any others as they are Meeting Houses after all. An example I edited is Te Papaiouru Marae in Rotorua, it also has a separate hall (Te Aomarama) as part of the Marae Area in addition to it's Wharekai which I left with only it's name & no community cenre tag to avoid confusion. For this Marae, the name of the Wharekai if it is the big building being used also as an office could be added via the official_name= tag to let it be primary displayed as an HQ office, the official_name= tag allows the building name to be hidden but still identifiable via OSM Nominatim search. These solutions will vary as each Marae in NZ is different from another. Cheers.

5 months ago | I'm going to delete the Fairfield Shops marker & just shift the Fairfield marker to be at the Four Square carpark cos I've seen that the Claudelands marker was still visible before the zoom level where Suburb markers appear so I'm shifting that to be left of Claudelands Event Centre where I'm certain that the City Marker of Hamilton will cover it there. I also find Overpass Turbo more confusing for me to use so I'm just relying on OSM until if I learn how to clearly operate it.
5 months ago | node/13011393177 (Peacocke) will be the new main marker for the surrounding new suburbs populations including North Peacocke & Amberfield to house the Wiki Tags which I'm going to shift now. Basically North Peacocke's population is currently the same as Peacocke's until the surrounding developments are going to be completed. Then sometime then we'll find out more about North Peacocke's population then. Peacocke will be like similar to how Rototuna is now today.
7 months ago | I relocated the marker next to the Howick Bowling Club. The quarter markers are useful to identify areas of a large area suburb like Howick is & I've previously done something similar to Naenae in Lower Hutt before. The suburb name is always most promident than quarter names are. Thank you for commenting.
10 months ago | Also shifted the placename for Omahu to be in the centre of the Korokipo, Swamp & Taihape Roads intersection.
