| 131568602 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Bubblyharp! Thanks for your contributions. Can I ask where you are sourcing the addresses from? The street address for these roads wouldn't generally include "Service Road". Dian

| 131482653 | almost 3 years ago | Thanks for the reply HighRouleur. I don't quite understand what you mean by these roads aren't roads "in the traditional sense". A lot of newer, in-fill development will keep a kerb or other traffic calming measures to try to minimise traffic speed; that's not incompatible with highway=residential. As a big fan of pipestem tagging myself, I think the definition of a pipestem is a bit broad; it could easily be applied to a traditional court or cul-de-sac. My interpretation has always been that pipestems are more like way/1123465671 : unnamed access driveways into residential blocks, with no integration with other roads. As most, I could see these roads being tagged simply as "service": "Generally for access to a building, service station, beach, campsite, industrial estate, business park, etc." But driveway I think is too far from the nature of the road. |
| 131482653 | almost 3 years ago | Hi HighRouleur. Happy New Year. I'm afraid I disagree with your recategorisation of these roads. While they are narrower than other streets, they are still a lot more similar to a residential road than a shared driveway.

| 131290497 | almost 3 years ago | Hello, What is your source for this hairdresser accepting bitcoin? It is not mentioned on their website.
|
| 131229710 | almost 3 years ago | Hey Derrick, In this case, there are three different post offices in Clayton. It doesn't make sense to move the label away from the centre of the suburb to just a single "town centre". |
| 131125647 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Jeknyan! Thanks for your contribution. In this edit, it appears you accidentally prevented through traffic on Springvale Road. I've fixed it for you. :) Happy mapping!

| 131077225 | almost 3 years ago | Hello, In this edit you have deleted the parking aisle for no apparent reason?
|
| 130898696 | almost 3 years ago | Hello, You are incorrect in this instance. Roads should not overlap without sharing a node, as it represents an intersection between the routable objects. This is correctly flagged as an error by all validation on iD |
| 131071561 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Davideous. Even though we don't use the term "sidewalk", the footway=sidewalk tag is the correct tag to be using for these footpaths. For more details, see osm.wiki/Australian_Tagging_Guidelines/Cycling_and_Foot_Paths

| 131037740 | almost 3 years ago | Thanks for the reply Derrick. I understand your reasoning for Oakleigh East.. There does appear to be another set of shops near Clayton Road, but given the post office is at the Huntingdale Road shops it's not a bad place for the label. I think moving Clayton makes a lot less sense. Clayton has a very strong set of shops around the station, and the Clayton Hospital is one of the other things most Melburnians would identify with the suburb. The current tag location is kind of close to all three, which I think is probably best given the multiple features of interest. Thoughts? Dian |
| 131037740 | almost 3 years ago | Hey Derrick, Again, just wanting to check in to see what you're trying to achieve? You've moved the Clayton labvel right to the north east border, rather than the geographic centre or the political centre (which I suppose would be Clayton south). I'd strongly suggest you refrain from editing suburb and neighbourhood nodes until you've built a bit more familiarity with editing with OSM. I'm happy to explain the various methods we achieve things (such as how postal codes and addresses are mapped) if you like? Dian

| 130974626 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Ethan, This appears to be an undiscussed import of Russian transliterations. What was the source for this change, and have you discussed this somewhere?
|
| 130970091 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Ethan, Thanks for your continuing contributions to the map. OSM has specific guidance for "transliterated" names: osm.wiki/Names#Transliteration. In particular, it discourages transliterated names that are not in regular use. Are these names used by Russian and Arabic speaking communities in Teesdale at Lethbridge? Dian

| 130952531 | almost 3 years ago | Hey Derrick, I can see you're moving quite a lot of suburb nodes around. Can I ask what you're trying to do? Some of these suburb labels have been moved right to the edge of the locality.

| 130906191 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Derrick, No problem at all. Thanks for getting in touch. The search bar on the OSM website uses a tool called Nominatim. https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/ui/search.html Nominatim doesn't update every day, but once it has updated the neighbourhood node we've created should show in the search results. Try searching for Clayton North in a couple of days and you should see the edit cascade through. :) Dian |
| 130906191 | almost 3 years ago | This user has tried several times to add "Clayton North" as a suburb to the map. The node has now been added for the neighbourhood, but it appears this Derrick is trying to get boundaries to render for the neighbourhood. Derrick, thank you for adjusting your edits in light of my previous comments about adding a suburb. Unfortunately, the boundaries of Clayton North are not well defined, and don't count as "administrative" boundaries. Administrative boundaries are dictated by the authorities (in this case, the State Government). I'll tidy up your edits again so that there aren't the duplicates that were there previously. You will see Clayton North rendered (once the tiles update, which can take a couple of days) where the node is, but it will look different to the suburbs nearby. You can reply to these comments by clicking the link in the notification email, then scrolling in the left hand pane to the "Discussion" section. Dian. |
| 130893044 | almost 3 years ago | Hello. This is the third time I have contacted you. Clayton North is not a suburb as defined by official sources: it's not used as the suburb in any addressess, and has not been gazetted as a locality. The place=suburb tag is not correct. This has been reverted, again, to accurately reflect that Clayton North is a neighbourhood.
