I think this needs reverting. You've copy-pasted a whole railway line. https://nrenner.github.io/achavi/?changeset=86946862

There was already a railway=station.at Norchard

JOSM doesn't default to 'yes'.
It's tagging window edit boxes remembers the last selection plus lists the preceding five.
It's possible to add tags to similar objects in one go. Quite easily if those objects are placed on a separate layer.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm unsure about the tagging though. Defining them as 'house' (OSM's 'standard') is just a quick as adding 'yes' in JOSM. Given the number of existing buildings tagged 'house', I assume your rendering software must be able to recognize the tag?

Hi
To check: Is this in construction, as in workers & track laying equipment on site?

86821269 over 5 years ago

Hi
Could you please give a bit more description of your changesets. a swell as #livingmap-osm-84
What does the '84' represent?

84464231 over 5 years ago

Says someone who made 20 separate changesets over the last day.
Disappointing to see you're a contributor unwilling to take responsibility for his actions.

Seriously?
I asked about the current validity of one of your edits. I 'pointed it out as the specific thing that needed changing' using well known & popular OSM validating software. You then criticized me for asking. How am I meant to interpret that other than "rude"?

OSM contributors will always be contacting you to ensure the OSM is as accurate as possible. They will use the software provided, whether you interpret as "creepy", "weird" or "stalkerish", or not. Please get used to it.

I don't know why you querying my question. Your edit of that node clearly shows it as a railway station under CONSTRUCTION.

Why are you unable to read accurately?

Hi
Is this still happening?

Hi
node/181310448
Do you have any current details of this? Is it still on the books?

Hi
What's a "service_station"?

"what is the definition of a halt in the UK "
Well, as pointed out in the newsgroup thread, no one really knows/agrees. For the NR stations 'Halt' other than literally 'stop' is so vague it leads to confusion & false data. I believe having all as railway=station, even down to the miniature, consolidates the info. Clearer subtags (such as request_stop) can be added to improve quality if required. I'm considering something like station=miniature to coincide with rail=miniature tag on the tracks.

As you may have noticed even these tourist routes are inconsistently & randomly tagged with a mixture of stations & halts.

Well, can't you amend them to how i said as your amendments are half right?

Hi
Version 4:
https://osmlab.github.io/osm-deep-history/#/way/220857485

Re: names: I'm unsure what you mean. Bridges of all types should have their name tagged using bridge:name for the reason I gave.
Example:
way/148028614
You've swapped the name of the road for the bridge name. That section of road now has no name.

84464231 over 5 years ago

Hi
Is there a reason you added tunnel?
way/220857485

'name' should not be used on bridges as they can clash with highway names:
bridge:name=*

78731767 over 5 years ago

I know. As I indicated in my first post. That doesn't make it a tunnel. It is still a bridge structure

covered=*
or
bridge=covered

78731767 over 5 years ago

Hi
Why have you tag it as both bridge & tunnel? These are clearly in confliction.
If the railway passes above the water line it is still a bridge, even if it's covered.

Sort of.Please have a read of this thread (it continues into Feb)
https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-gb/2020-January/024096.html

Basically 'halt' is to ambiguous/subjective.
I've change all the commercial stations to 'stations'. I'm working my way through tourist lines. Every halt already has a usage=tourist tag & I'm adding the specific 'request_stop=yes' where I can find appropriate data. (I'm emailing them to find out if it isn't obvious). It makes little difference in any of the main renderings.
