I disagree with your implication that my sidewalk geometry is low quality, or that the imported sidewalks are higher quality.

In that case, you could have reverted your own upload instead of mass-deleting my sidewalks.

I disagree with your characterization of events. You could have chosen not to import your sidewalks after seeing mine, but you instead chose to mass-delete mine.

I apologize for deleting sidewalks that did not replace ones I originally drew - the reverter tool doesn't allow you to only delete replaced objects. I have re-added most of the sidewalks on other streets that were deleted - I plan to go back over this area to make sure I haven't missed any.

That seems like an interesting project. Thanks for letting me know. I'm not entirely sure how I could contribute though - could you tell me more?

I'm not completely sure what you mean. It is possible to write scripts in JOSM to mass-update features, but the learning curve is rather steep. Also, some editors don't like those sort of edits.

Thanks Jarek. I have been impressed by your central Toronto surveys - they are very detailed.

In the past few months (except for today), you've realized that OSM is not a good use of your time. There are a lot of projects that are much better suited to someone with your skills than OSM, and you've acted accordingly, and stopped editing. This is the right decision, and I've glad you made it.

This is my mistake, thanks.

By the way, I've been very impressed and happy with your editing activity in the past few months. Keep up the good work!

I have reverted this changeset because of your concerns.

81083997 almost 6 years ago

I will send you a PM explaining why.

Yes

I sometimes use indoor=room (indoor=room). Not having any other tags (other than the store tags) is also OK.

I've contacted Data_Fusion_To_Update to raise my concerns - see the changeset here - changeset/81025364.

By the way, how did you come across this changeset? I'm always interested in validation tools that I can use to detect buggy changesets.

Hi Data_Fusion_To_Update,
Thanks for adding the addresses for Staples stores - that is very helpful.
For the polygons, could you not add the building tag in cases like this one (where the Staples is in a building with other shops). Having a building inside another building is something that is generally avoided in OpenStreetMap.

The purpose of this changeset was to fix the buildings within buildings in Data_Fusion_To_Update's edits. I also removed the addr:province tag, following local custom. The source is more imagery than knowledge.

As for deletions, if anything was deleted in error, I can restore it. Just let me know.

ArcKm, how do you explain the school website? It it out of date? Keep in mind that Darul uloom is a boarding school, so it might appear from the outside to be an apartment complex.

79202577 almost 6 years ago

Do you have any source for this? Because its website (http://www.ducanada.org/) pretty clearly states that it is a school.
