What is "Apex" What does it mean in the context of what you did?

This would be a really good addition to OpenHistoricalMap, which is where historical features that no longer exist can be mapped and live on forever. Also a really cool place where you can tag start/end dates and watch the expansion and slowdown of rail in the US.

We don't generally map features that no longer exist and have been replaced/built over by new features.

way/1334141039

Specifically, I can say with 100% certainty that this feature does not exist, if it ever did. There is no remnants of rail, ties, signals, etc. There also are no railways visible on aerial imagery where one could be confused about it being seen on old imagery and where we don't want it readded.

You can read more here:
osm.wiki/Nonexistent_features

Abandoned features should also have some trace remaining. So segments that go across a motorway where nothing exists shouldn't be mapped either.

abandoned:*=*

Correct. Perhaps my changeset comment was a bit too generic. A couple minor/easy additions were made while cleaning up some features. Sorry - I get distracted too easily, hence the handful/occasional addition. Yes, it would have been added from aerial imagery.

Hello. Welcome to OSM. I took a quick look and this is a good edit. I've been going through and removing some of them as well. They are all artifacts from a 2007 import, back when we first got data. Many rurals areas have the same issue with road.

Hello, and welcome to OSM. Couple things.

When adding buildings (or other rectangular/square features), you can press "Q" on your keyboard to square the corners and give them right angles.

Also, when adding the address, be sure to input the correct info in the correct fields. Zip code should be in zip code, housenumber in housenumber, etc.

I went ahead and made the changes for you here. I encourage you to take a look. Let me know if you have any questions.

half these "buildings" are truck trailers that move.

instead of adding a new and separate node for features, like Spectrum, you should just update the store that it replaced.

I highly recommend an app called StreetComplete which allows you to make the necessary name/brand change right from the app.

Hello. Welcome to OSM. When you are submitting, can you write up a more descriptive changeset comment? Instead of "Many", I would suggest "Changed XYZ to ABC because of MNO."

Welcome to OSM.

You can use the hotkey, "Q" to square the buildings and give them proper corners. :)

Changeset reverted.

See:

Changeset reverted in part or full. On OSM, we use access tags (access)=* to denote features are on private property. It is actually beneficial to have them mapped as private driveways.
