Hi! some of your edits in this area removed the placement=transition tags which were carefully added for precision. All the motorways in the Montreal area have been carefully aligned using theorical and physical gores, as well as transitions between number of lanes. Please keep them as they were. Thanks!

Hi!

Thanks fo your edits around Châteauguay!

Can you make sure not to add duplicates for shops and POIs? the tags you added on buildings were already on the nodes that were layered on top of the buildings. In the Quebec area, we usually map POIs as nodes instead of on the building, because most buildings can have multiple POIs inside them and it is easier to maintain that way. Also, OSM wiki says that we must not add the tags to both the buiding and the nodes. When doing so, search engines will return two POIs for the same query. Thanks!

Your description is correct, but you changed the street at another place where it is two-way. I fixed it.

Hi!
Would it be possible to update the swimming pools with the tag: access=private ?
By default, the access is yes, so anyone can access.
Thanks!

Nice! Thanks

A parking lane could be considered a barrier. We'll wait for up to date aerial imagery before realigning it, so for now your work is good :-) Thanks!

And it is bidirectional?

Hi! Thanks for updating data!

Can you confirm that this cycling track is separated from the road with a barrier or concrete curb? If it isn't, we usually add the cycling tags to the road itself (cycleway:right=lane with other associated tags). Thanks!

OK, so following this guide, it seems legit. It should be added to the official wiki though, otherwise people will keep merging the segments.

Adding street names to sidewalks is quite essential nowadays, because routing engines use them instead of the street themselves, and without any names on sidewalks, you would get very obscure routing because the complete set of directions would never give you any street name, which would be bad. In Quebec province, I have never seen anyone having problems with this, so I guess it is ok for us.

Thanks!

Please do not create small segments of sidewalk at intersections, because we cannot name these to the correct street name (they are a connection for two streets). Where did you see examples of these in the wiki?

Also, please use this offset when editing precise data in the Montreal area using the Bing 2020 imagery:
0.6, -1.54
as explained here: osm.wiki/Montr%C3%A9al under Bing Maps offset

Thanks!

Thanks for editing this park. However, please do not connect landuse with roads, since it makes it very difficult to edit roads and add sidewalks and footpaths then, since everything is connected. I fixed it in changeset changeset/147565946

Thanks for the info!

I think street_side should be on public road only, otherwise it is hard for parsers to distinguish between private/customers and public road parkings. But maybe the acccess=customers is enough there.

Fast checking the parking page on OSM wiki got me thinking that it is way more complicated than that and we should read it again thoroughly. :-)

PLease keep parkings connected to roads, otherwise routing to them is undefined. Thanks!

There is no such chalet/rest area there. Reverting

Hi!

Please use bicycle=dismount for these paths, to avoid routing problems (some routing engines may block bicycle routing for small segments and create long detours for bicycle=no). It is almost always permitted to walk alongside a bicycle, except in some indoor areas. Thanks!

I think at least some of these exit names were legit. Can you explain how you decided that the names were not correct? Did you survey and verify with the signs themselves?

Are you sure the sidewalk has become a cycling path there? A second unpaved footpath is present around the trees but I do not see any cycling path. Can you confirm this is up to date information?
