Hi, I just want to point out that the feature natural=wood should be drawn as an area, not merely a node/point. This is explained here:- natural=wood

Could you please amend the wood nodes that you've added so that they render properly? Need any help please just ask.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

There are quite a few problems with your mapping.

Buildings, a few of these are duplicated in that you've drawn an outline around the whole block (tagged as building=house ) then drawn outlines for the individual houses. It's usually only the block or the individual units that are drawn. Only in special circumstances are both drawn. It's also nice to square up buildings, easily done with the iD editor.

Highway lines are the highway center lines. A building (or other feature), would not extend and join onto a highway centerline.

Gardens to houses are not usually formally named, and I doubt would be named 'Garden'. A lot of gardens are open to the public but I doubt these gardens are. It would be appropriate to add the tag access=private.

An addr:housenumber tag should hold the house number only and not include any name as well.

I know it would be very difficult and disheartening for you to go back over what you've mapped. So I've taken gone over all your changesets and made amendments to suit OSM practice. Please have a look, any questions just comment here.

Hi, Sorry but I only just noticed that this is your first edit to OSM. Please take my comment above as advice.

It's good when you start editing to read up on OSM practices and look at how similar features are mapped. Please seek help if you're not sure.

Hi, I've removed your motorway tagging from Way: 199391661. deleted your motorway Way: 1049281894 which was placed on top of an existing highway. These are obviously not motorways, please refrain from adding them.

I also moved the farmland area Way: 1049281895 off of the highway center line, the farmland is not on the highway.

Hi, You placed part of a footpath (1047680810) on top the track (Way: 1047680808) making for duplication of highways on the same line. This would disrupt routing.

I've removed the track and updated the section of footpath to a track as per OSM practice.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I wonder, is the residential area still named Arla Foods? If not the name ought to be removed or tagged disused:name=Arla Foods.

Sorry, lastly please try not to upload duplicated sections of the highway, I've just removed four.

Correction areas, including residential areas, ought not be joined to highways for the above reasons.

Hi, Please be aware that grass areas wouldn't extend to the centerline of unclassified highways, therefore grass should not be joined to road lines. It also makes for difficulties in later amendments.

Hi, Please be advised that your use of the layer tag on buildings is nullified because the building parts are joined. Please see here for advice on the use of the layer tag:- layer=* Specifically the statement "Joining the ways with a shared node at the point where they cross would destroy the vertical order established by layer."

Hi, I've squared up some of the buildings, squaring up is easy to do and makes for a neater map. Also tweaked lots of nodes, (joining and or removing).

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I've amended the paths tags to show definitive public use, removing the access=no tag. The access=no tag indicates that there is no vehicular access at all, which isn't exactly right. I sectioned the public right of way up so the different accesses can be shown, foot only and agricultural vehicles. I've also added some hedges to show where the path runs.

Please don't let this amendment put you off mapping, there's just a lot to learn.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

The railway through the car park was tagged as abandoned:railway=rail
railway=abandoned. There is evidence of its existence in old imagery and indeed the Bing imagery you mapped over with the iD editor. This section was not mapped as a live railway as such it is a valid feature for inclusion in the OSM database. The on-the-ground truth has altered with the new car park in that there is now no ground evidence left of the railway. So the tags for the section should be amended to railway=historic,
razed:railway=rail.

Thus I've reinstated the rail line and amended the tags as mentioned above.

Hi, In fixing the dragged node you have now deleted the offending node. this deletion has disconnected the path, Way: 980657586 from the road Way: 980657589.

This is not the way to reinstate the previous position of dragged nodes. You have to restore the dragged nodes position not delete it.

I've reverted your changes and then reinstated the position of the dragged node. It is very easy to inadvertently make this sort of mistake so it's best to double-check for mistakes before uploading changes.

I forgot to say that there are lots of single untagged nodes in the area these may be left from your deletions.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

The park is already mapped as an outline, Way: Postman's Park (170205758). Thus the POI is not needed.
