Changeset When Comment

Hi, it is OSM practice to amend the existing way if changes are needed rather than delete and redraw. Thus the complete history of the way is retained. So I have reverted your deletion and redrawing (reinstated the history), then made your amendment to the existing way.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Potten End, the school name and details are on the school grounds outline as per OSM practice. Placing it on the building as well is just unnecessary duplication so I've removed it. The same applies to Ashlyns School.

Please see amenity=school

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

The Correct term for an area set out for the playing golf is a golf course. Thus I have reinstated the leisure=golf_course that you amended. I also remove the golf=green and sport=golf from the area outline because they are unnecessary.

I also amended the tags you placed on the green and bunkers. I suspect that the green and bunkers are not formally named. Please see leisure=golf_course for guidance on golf course tagging.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

An area can be tagged with all relevant tags, so as this looks like and was tagged as woodland I have reinstated the natural=wood tag.

I also removed the power pole you added/duplicated and reinstated the original power pole (joined to the area outline), to the power line.

Hi, one building is not tagged at all.

68624208 almost 7 years ago

Hi, you've inadvertently tagged several features here as buiding=yes, it should be building=yes will an L.

68623220 almost 7 years ago

Untagged way removed.

Hi, you've inadvertently tagged several features here as buiding=yes, it should be building=yes will an L.

You also have barriers (fences) crossing over each other, I suspect these barriers are joined at the intersection.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that a lot of the features added in this changeset are not tagged at all and some are lacking in adequate tags.

What look like building not tagged, What look like buildings within building untagged.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Unfortunately your MAPS.ME app does not seem to give a clear and full picture of what is contained in the OSM database.

The London Eye is already tagged as a tourist attraction at the precise position (Way: Coca‑Cola London Eye (204068874)). Your three POI placed on the pier to the east are therefore quadrupling the existing feature.

Your historic=castle POI placed on the Buckingham Palace building is incorrect. This is a palace, as the name implies, not a castle.

Regarding your tourism=attraction POI in Hyde Park is confusing, there is no attraction at this point. If you are referring to the park then that feature is already mapped. You are correct that the park was no tagged as an attraction, I've added tourism=attraction to the boundary of the park.

For these reasons your five new POI ought to be removed, I can easily do this if you wish?

Hi, Just wanted to let you know that some of your new grass areas overlap each other and some have self intersecting outlines.

You have joined most of the areas to highway center lines, even dragging some highways out of original alignment. Joining areas to highway centre lines makes it very difficult to see and correct some of the mistakes. If a grass area extends over a path (the path surface being grass) then the area can be drawn over the path not joined to it.

Hi, I've made a lot of changes to the buildings in this area. Removed duplicates, tagged untagged areas, redrawn buildings, terraced buildings. A lot of the problems were inadvertently made by yourself. I think I've corrected them all.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

None of the areas (except one) that you added in the changeset are tagged. Thus this is of no benefit to the OSM database, none of the untagged areas will be rendered. A lot of the lines are partial areas. A lot of the areas/lines are drawn over existing features.

Thus I think it best if this changeset is reverted leaving the database in it's original state. Do you need help reverting the changes? If so just ask.

Further some buildings are joined to the residential area outline.

68509497 almost 7 years ago

Hi, you've drawn a lot of buildings here but forgot to tag them. Also the buildings are misshapen, you can easily square them up, they'll look a lot neater. At least one building has a section of outline duplicated. Some buildings are joined to highways.

Could you please correct these mistakes?

Thanks and Regards Bernard.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

It might be better to survey properly or wait for good aerial imagery before adding to the estate. I think you have the housing block wrong and at least one street name. A building=yes tag even with a post code is pretty meaningless.

It was reverted in response to the forum question.

No response so I've made amendments to correct the problems.

Hi, Are there bridges where this path crosses dykes/ditches? Also does the path really go along the line of a waterway for a considerable distance? If the existing waterways are out of place it's best to correct them rather than just draw your path on top of them.

Hi, are there bridges in the middle of this pathway where it crosses the old canal line?
