Re. 1, I was attempting to highlight that the small area on the edge of the lake is a nice spot partially because the surface is a wooden platform.

It is similar to the slightly larger pier on the western side of the lake. But it's not really a pier hence my attempt at finding an appropriate tag.

Is there a more appropriate tag or do you suggest I simply not map such features (and remove them as you have done)?

Hi, I was looking to provide service time information for two services specifiying the language offered. i.e. service_times for german and Dienstzeit for german.
osm.wiki/Item:Q1906

In retrospect I shouldn't have added the tag. It's not clear to me what the right way is. The opening_hours documentation doesn't appear to give guidance about
providing that information.
