almost 6 years ago | Some of the buildings are overlapping existing ones, think you could double check those? Also, MapWithAI building outlines are the same as Bing, and it automatically removes buildings that are already mapped as well as adds a source tag to the buildings. Just thought this might be informative if you decide to continue mapping buildings. In addition, imports should be discussed with the community beforehand. If you manually review the data before uploading, no prior approval is required. Allison P
almost 6 years ago | I did not create the feature, but blind validation (when iD did the fixes for you instead of requiring user review) caused me to update the tags without realising. I've removed it. Good eye. I also try to specify when I'm using the iD validator nowadays. Let me know if you have further questions.
almost 6 years ago | After doing some background research, a lot of buildings on the base were demolished, especially houses. I've removed those houses and streets.
almost 6 years ago | Hi mapman44, As you can see Bing imagery was used to check the buildings. I only discovered after submitting the changeset that there was higher resolution and newer imagery available. I will use this better imagery to review the building footprint accuracy within the next few days and make refinements. Thanks for the info.
almost 6 years ago | Hi Alhamdulillah, I would not classify this as an import. I am downloading building footprint data from MapWithAI, manually reviewing it, and fixing it to the best of my ability if inaccurate, then uploading the data. Allison P
about 6 years ago | Perhaps name=The Church In Boise and official_name=The church in Boise? Or vice versa? I'm not sure. Capitalised looks better on the renderer but I don't want to tag for the renderer.
about 6 years ago | No worries! It's a very common error because iD seems to try to connect roads to boundaries before other roads. I made that mistake a few times while learning to edit. It can frequently be useful to open the map data menu and scroll down and disable boundaries so that you can't interact with them.
about 6 years ago | This seems to have fixed the rendering error.
about 6 years ago | You seem to have connected the service road to the Star city limit boundary rather than North Plummer Road. I have fixed this.
about 6 years ago | No, it's not. Feel free to remove it. I didn't know how highway areas worked when I added it.
about 6 years ago | If you are uncertain what kind of road you're mapping, use highway=road. It will also trigger the iD validator making it easy to add classification later.
about 6 years ago | I've noticed you are making many changesets like this in Boise. The contributions are much appreciated! However, some of these roads you are adding are tagged incorrectly. You have mapped some parking aisles as service roads. Please keep this in mind if you decide to continue mapping parking lots in the future. Thank you!
about 6 years ago | Use Bing imagery when mapping in this area as it is the newest available. I have deleted these roads.
about 6 years ago | I would use landuse=grass since there's no evidence the area is a park.
about 6 years ago | Is this really a park? As far as I know this area is just grass, and I don't believe it has a name.
about 6 years ago | Thanks bhousel, that's exactly what I was looking for. I added the tag to the road.
about 6 years ago | Hmm, I wonder how I should map it then. I don't think BSU wants thru traffic to use the private section of the road, but use for anyone with business at BSU is fine. Mapping it as public might result in OSM-based navigators telling people to take it as a shortcut but mapping it as private might give some people a hard time getting to some places in BSU.
about 6 years ago | The street sign on Capitol is blue (verified in person) indicating that the road is private. However on Broadway the street sign is green which means public. The street sign at the point where the road goes from one-way to two-way is also private. Thus I inferred that the section up to the West Stadium Lot was private and the rest was public. Let me know if you have any more questions or feedback.

over 6 years ago | Thanks for fixing this up, I wasn't quite sure how to map it. It seems like since the slide passes directly underneath itself it should reuse the same nodes.
