Changeset When Comment

Considering the small number of changes made, I don't think it's a big issue here.

I understand that the tag is still used on hundreds of thousands of nodes and ways. There are likely some countries where is_in still has some use, but seeing as how the country, state, county, and city borders are already mapped, there is no need, mapping applications are able to determine those, making the tag redundant. JOSM recommends removing the tag now, though this is a very recent decision. I was using JOSM so I figured to remove it.

The is_in tag is deprecated due to most countries having boundary polygons. I removed those tags for this reason. While I can't stop you from adding them back, I wanted to let you know.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm pretty sure OSM suggests against mapping features that no longer exist, but since it does not affect mapping in the area, I don't think it's a big detail. I'll keep it.

Can I ask you about the razed railway that passes through downtown? There has not been a railway through there at any point in recent history. I'm considering removing it since there's no evidence it ever existed. Let me know if you have any objections.

Can you explain what exactly you fixed? Track roads are unmaintained roads on farms, and the roads you modified are residential roads that are unpaved, but they're still maintained. In addition, you deleted some real driveways. I'll revert this changeset unless you have a justification.

@TagaSanPedroAko I did not realise that these classifications didn't have specific rules. I have made changes like this in the past and they have gone over with no comments. I can revert the entire changeset if desired. I did a small amount of research on some of the places mentioned (such as Flin Flon) and I couldn't understand how it was classified as a city. I also noticed that it was originally classified as a town (or maybe village, I can't quite remember) so I thought it was an incorrect edit. I apologize, let me know if I should revert the rest of the changeset.

Spearfish is definitely not a city. Why did you tag it as such?

I finally got the reversion working. It will take awhile. I still feel awful for increasing the size of the planet.osm file.

68903715 over 6 years ago

Reverter is just not working. I'm going to block JOSM's network access to prevent this from happening in the future, but if anyone is adept enough, please fix this changeset. All of the data is 100% garbage. I'm still trying to do it but I'm not quite sure I should be trusted to revert it myself. For some reason 10000 nodes from ways I created got uploaded but without maintaining any of the ways or relations.

68903715 over 6 years ago

This was some testing I was doing, I don't know how it got uploaded. It was marked as not being in a good state for uploading. My computer is crashing trying to revert this changeset.

68903715 over 6 years ago

This was not supposed to be uploaded... yikes, reverting ASAP.

68816991 over 6 years ago

Er... what exactly did you add? All I see is a single untagged line.

Just so you know, the area of land the school is situated on should be school grounds and the school building(s), which you mapped, should be buildings.

Looks like the hospital nodes are both duplicates, so I've removed them.

Borah High School is already on the map as an area. I deleted the node.

"Fixes" I can't figure out how to fix the island. For some reason when I try to add it to the riverbank relation the river only displays as a way instead of an area.

There are multiple fake parks in this changeset. I've removed each of them, but would you like to explain them?

64920102 almost 7 years ago

A lot of the areas you've tagged as beaches are definitely not beaches. What's up with that?

64920413 almost 7 years ago

The "beach" you added doesn't seen to be a beach, but a forest. I have tagged it as such. If this is incorrect, let me know.
