I would appreciate not changing the denomination of existing LDS churches to one with 10% as much usage. denomination=mormon already receives special support in the Carto renderer. If you want to change the tag then discuss in the community forum. The discussion could use revitaliation. I think few people are fond ofthe status quo. https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/proposal-to-replace-denomination-mormon-with-denomination-latter-day-saint/116817

Please don't connect landuse to roads. It makes it harder to maintain. Technically, it is incorrect, as landuse does not extend into the middle of a road. It is best to extend landuse to the inner edge of a sidewalk, or a road if no sidewalk is present. Thanks.

And Broadway Estate Condominiums, and a bunch of apartment buildings in between...

I've been trying to get the Nampa address points server working in MapWithAI but have been running into an issue. I've never seen a MapServer used with MapWithAI before. Can you share your configuration?

Yes, intersecting nodes are often a pain, but when pieces of related geometry actually touch each other, they are easier to maintain if they share nodes. Boundaries and streets shouldn't touch each other (but often do because of inexperienced mappers and the initial low-quality import adding them). It is easy enough to disconnect only select features from each other to ensure that golf course features touch only each other. I would suggest doing so for any golf course features before working on them.

It would be more appropriate to change addr:country to addr:state

state_code is not recognized by any data consumers

You changed addr:state instead of addr:country

I'm not sure why iD has been creating these. At one point it even made a zero-node way that prevented me from submitting a changeset. I have been splitting and combining a lot of ways, including some of which are part of multipolygons. A bug report may be an order if I can work out how this occurred.

discouraged, although the tag is controversial since it is subjective. I don't think you need to tag the road at all.

Is there a sign explicitly forbidding bicycles and pedestrians on this road?

Hi bwheeler65, a few tips and questions:

The website tag should only be used for a site directly relating to the feature. If there is a distinct page for each building, then use that, otherwise the tag should be left off.
Ditto for the phone number. If calling that number doesn't lead directly to someone at the particular building, it should not be included. If it is indeed correct, then the phone number should also include the country code, delineated with a hyphen. (+1-208-387-6195)

The name is pretty verbose. Consider renaming to "Traffic Operations Building #" and adding operator=Ada County Highway District and operator:wikidata=Q4678237.

Finally, are you certain the street is East Franklin Road? The county assessor reports the address as West Franklin Road. East Franklin Road would suggest that the facility is in Meridian, which does not correspond to the city limits. https://apps.adacounty.id.gov/PropertyLookup/PropertyDetails?parcel=S1109438975&year=2025

Thanks!

About 80 left, almost all in Northeast Meridian.

Names are not abbreviated on OSM, so "Assn" should be spelled out as "Association". (I think "Ass" triggered some sort of filter.)

I am quite certain that all of their comments posted after your own comment were written with ChatGPT, though I appreciate that may not be obvious to you or others.

I don't think it is uncivil to be frustrated by my advice being ignored until backed by an authority. I do think it uncivil, though, to completely ignore my frustration in favor of chiding me about communication and offering unsolicited advice about being a better mapper. With that being said, you are right that continuing is most likely unhelpful, so I'll quiet down.

There is irony in bemoaning the lack of collaboration and communication when you rely on AI to communicate for you. ChatGPT does not understand language, so it can't actually tell whether a comment is hostile. As a result, it just quoted three random sentences from my comment. It is not hostile to tell someone they have disrespected you.

The fact that your comment does not address any of my concerns means that your prompt is essentially just to accuse me of hostility. Designing an algorithm to do that for you is definitely harassment.

I would prefer to speak to a human over ChatGPT. The latter is known for confabulating. For instance, I cannot find any combative comments from b-jazz. As for me, I am sorry that I was not more receptive to being told I was wrong even though I turned out to be right. I am additionally sorry for lumping you in with other golf course mappers making incorrect edits when all you did was make incorrect golf course edits. I am also sorry for not displaying good faith in response to your lack of faith in the advice we both gave you.

And as for the human who, unlike ChatGPT, can detect insincerity in these apologies: You did not display a willingness to learn when you refused advice from mappers with years of experience. You were not singled out to any extent greater than that you are singly responsible for your edits. All accusatory comments on your changesets appear to be factual. You were not gatekept from the platform in anyway other than to indicate that incorrect edits would be reverted. Collaboration is a two-way street that you have metaphorically set up a road block on with your comments. You were offered many chances at discussion, but refused them. This is a common theme amongst golf course mappers, who I proceeded to lump you in with. I am sorry that I was hostile to you, but that is a natural response when one's community is disrespected.

Furthermore, it is disrespectful to me and to b-jazz to completely ignore what we tell you only to suddenly act understanding when a moderator reiterates them. Tone is not the only way to show respect.

Go right ahead. I doubt you'll enjoy being told by an admin everything both of us have told you already. Your reasoning does not pass muster. Vandals are frequently banned and their changes are reverted, even though entering the name of their middle school as "poop" is something they wish.

Your constant threats to report and accusations of harassment could constitute harassment themselves.

Down to 247, mostly in Northeast Meridian and the West Bench.

I had no idea there were so many apartment complexes in Ada County. They're definitely working to slow me down. There are 540 mapped, at least a hundred to go, and I'm sure even after I add names to everything I'll have missed several dozen.
