Nice post. Got me looking at my area. I soon found the OSM Relation Analyzer at http://ra.osmsurround.org which helped me a lot.

Shifting images doesn’t work for me. My keyboard is qwerty and the tilde is to the left of the “1” and accessed with the shift key.

That was interesting. Got me interested in exploring Turkmenistan. I found a nice area NW of Turkmenabat that needed some mapping. It’s fun to look at new places. It’s also fun to map an area from scratch. Thanks for posting.
