over 10 years ago | Hello, this is not a demo server. Please use the development server for testing. osm.wiki/Sandbox_for_editing Please do also respect the import guidelines when you upload something onto the OpenStreetMap server: osm.wiki/Import/Guidelines
over 10 years ago | Hello GoUtes!, please don't classify "unclassified roads" as residential roads. An unclassified road which goes through an residential area should retain the higher classification and shouldn't be downgraded to highway=residential Regards, Arch
| 31053083 | over 10 years ago | Hello, your're that we're not mapping only for the OpenStreetMap website. Many different services rely on OpenStreetMap data and therefore it's important to follow some quality guidelines. One of those guidelines is to put only the name into the name field and not other attributes like elevation. Putting elevation into the name field would cause issues for many other applications. If you'd like to see the elevation in Maps.ME you should ask the developers of the app to include this information. For me it seems that trekkers aren't the target customers of Maps.ME as it doesn't display elevation and contour lines. I can recommend OpenAndroMaps + Locus Map Free for hiking. This app includes elevation and contour lines. http://www.openandromaps.org/en/

over 10 years ago | Please add the elevation into the elevation input field and not into the name :)
over 10 years ago | Hello Tomas, please do add attributes onto each feature you add into OpenStreetMap. Otherwhise no map would display the feature you've added. I've corrected some mistakes. For example here: node/3512357093/history you've added an viewpoint and called it "viewpoint". The attributes were missing. I've added the corresponding attribute and removed the "name". A name should only been added if a feature realy has a name, see osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only Maybe http://learnosm.org/en/beginner/start-id/ can help you a bit on how to map with the iD-editor. Regards, Arch
over 10 years ago | Hello Super-Map, please provide me an answer. I've seen that you've also added lit=yes/no values. This isn't possible without ground survey. Are you in the fields or where do those values come from?
over 10 years ago | Hello yodooli, when images have an offest (for example Digital Globe imagery for the HOT activation in Nepal) you can correct this offest in JOSM: http://learnosm.org/en/editing/correcting-imagery-offset/
over 10 years ago | More specifically I mean the administrative boundaries.
over 10 years ago | Hello Denis, what's the source of your changes? Could you provide a link?
over 10 years ago | How is it possible to assess the smoothness of an highway via Bing? This sounds infeasible to me.
over 10 years ago | Hello TheKnightWho, please do not add names into the ref-tag. This is wrong.
over 10 years ago | *i meant Colombia, not Columbia ;)
over 10 years ago | In CS #30952748 (*) Thundercel splitted some boundary ways but he hasn't loaded all affected boundary relations into JOSM and so he created about 40 boundary relations in Venezuela, Columbia and Brazil with gaps (unclosed multipolygons) because the existing relations didn’t reference the newly created ways.
over 10 years ago | Ok, finished. I've repaired and validated 30 administrative boundaries in Brazil, 7 in Columbia and 6 in Venezuela: http://osm.wno-edv-service.de:82/index.php/10-osm-reports/186-countries-compare-2015-05-11
over 10 years ago | Hello Thundercel, please pay more attention when you edit administrative boundaries. Please load all affected relations into JOSM when you split ways. This changeset damaged a bunch of administrative boundaries in Columbia and Venezuela. I've reverted this changeset to repair the damaged boundaries. changeset/30993496
over 10 years ago | Hello, no, I'm not sure that this island actually exists. I just merged the name from the POI to the area. Maybe I've used the mapnik layer therefore. I didn't notice that there's no island anymore. I think there was an island in the past: http://www.bibleorigins.net/CaptureWiz549_op_640x494.jpg I'd propose to remove the area completely as it seems that there isn't a sandbar anymore. Maybe they've used the sand there for the expansion of the port.
over 10 years ago | Hello, Pujan Poudyal, you've uploaded some new boundaries again. As source you've mentioned "OCHA Nepal". I assume that you mean the following dataset: https://data.hdx.rwlabs.org/dataset/nepal-admin-level-4-administrative-boundaries-cod This dataset has license requirements and can't be imported into the OpenStreetMap database without further permission by the owner. Please follow the import guidelines [1] before you upload any dataset.
over 10 years ago | Hello Pujan Poudyal, I've noticed that you've uploaded some administrative boundaries. What is the source of those boundaries?
| 30697137 | over 10 years ago | Hello courage325, this is not a stream, this is a path: way/340429403/history
