I am delighted to share that I have received the “State of the Map Asia 2023 Community Champion Awards” as a recognition for advocating the use of OpenStreetMap and community-building across different groups, spaces, and regions in the Asia-Pacific region and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusivity within the community. Zum Editieren von Objekten einer Objektklasse muss ich sie identifizieren und unterscheiden können. In den meisten Fällen ist der Name dafür ausreichend. Aber nicht immer. Der Name könnte nicht existieren oder er existiert mehrfach im Editiergebiet. Einfachste Lösung: Namen erfinden bzw. auf Unterscheidbarkeit modifizieren.

Einfach ja, aber unsauber. Grundsätzlich ist hier das Wiki sehr klar: im name-Tag soll nur ein real existierender Eigenname stehen und nur der Eigenname [1].

Beispiele für suspekte Eigennamen

• Wanderweg 786 Viele ÖAV-Wanderwege haben keinen Namen, name=Wanderweg XXX ist sicher kein Eigenname
• Dorfkapelle Krusdorf Kategorie + Ort ist meist kein Eigenname. Hier ist es definitiv nicht korrekt, der Eigenname ist “Maria von den Engeln”
• Bus 600: Leibnitz Postamt => Graz Don Bosco Bahnhof Ein vollständig konstruierter Name. Das Public Transport Schema [2] hat das name-Tag vollständig gekapert
• Murradweg Verbindungsrouten (AT) der Eigenname wird mit der Ergänzung zu einem beschreibenden Namen
• Apotheke, Fußballplatz, Toilette Gattungsnamen sind kaum jemals Eigennamen. Spaßig die Diskussion Is https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:name=Toilet even theorethically valid for https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:amenity=toilets?

Meine konstruierten Namen

Viele Radrouten haben Alternativen, Zubringer und optionale Exkursionen. Nur bei kleinen und einfachen (ohne forward/backward) Routen verwende ich zur Benennung die Rolleneigenschaft [3]. Meist teile ich die Route aber in eine Hauptroute und in eine Alternative Route, mit allen Varianten, Zubringer und Exkursionen, auf. Oft unterteile ich auch die Hauptroute weiter in Etappen, um die Größe der Relationen unter 500 Mitgliedern zu halten.

Hi,

My name is Branko from Microsoft. Microsoft’s involvement with OSM spans several impactful contributions:

• Providing Bing imagery since 2010 for free use in OSM for whole world (and all the drama that comes with it)
• Creating Map builder – intuitive editor for Bing users that want to edit OSM map (and all the drama that comes with it)
• Maintaining iD in the interim period before Martin took over (sorry, no drama here, just plain good old maintainership)
• Released world coverage of AI-mined building footprints and road data as open data

This list is not intended to be PR for Microsoft, and I know this sounds like a corporate cliché, but this list is hopefully showing that Microsoft is really committed to success of OSM. Stuff that we did previously, stuff in that list above, is stuff that we think will benefit the community and improve OSM contributions. And we hope it did! A lot of us recently visited SotM EU 2023 and I hope you saw us all around. That event allowed us to see stuff from a different perspective and to try to think out of the box. So, we thought, what if we pause trying to figure out what is the best way to improve OSM contributions on our own and instead - ask YOU how Microsoft can help!? Yes, YOU, the community, directly here in the diary😊. I know this may sound unconventional, but hey – OSM is also not the most conventional project out there, so we thought this might just be the proper way to gather interesting ideas.

A week ago, one of my riding companions lost her horse in a tragic traffic accident at a busy intersection. Now, the Colorado equestrian community is demanding change in our suburbs to prevent pedestrian, equestrian, and cyclist injuries and deaths. One of our starting steps is to map popular riding routes that use public roads so that our legislators can identify problem areas and work to resolve unsafe traffic conditions caused by inadequate infrastructure.

De nouveau une semaine calme sur OSM avec juste un gros changeset pour résoudre des “problèmes”, une petite séance de micromapping dans le Fond de Seraing et des corrections ici et là. La semaine prochaine sera encore plus calme pour raisons personnelles et il est probable que je ne fasse pas une entrée à cause de ça.

Pour les vidéos, j’ai surtout fini la fameuse randonnée d’il y a presque un mois maintenant (de nouveau pour être tranquille) et enregistré une des quatre sessions ci-dessus. Donc on a :

Améliorons Seraing (sur OpenStreetMap) - Épisode 18 (Ougrée et ses “problèmes”) - La version live de ce changeset en gros

Ce randonneur vous emmène avec lui sur le Sentier de Ville en Cour (ou Vicinal 51 d’Ivoz) à Flémalle - Troisième partie de la randonnée qui se concentre surtout sur le sentier vicinal n°51 d’Ivoz-Ramet qui a été “modifié” en 2021. Le tracé original n’existait plus depuis belle lurette apparemment et le tracé actuel est le vrai depuis plus d’un siècle, ce n’était juste pas encore officiel dans l’atlas des voiries vicinales

Ce randonneur finit sa sortie par une ascension du Bois de l’Abbaye à Seraing… et se perd un peu - Dernière partie de la randonnée avec la remontée finale vers Seraing… où je me paume un peu dans un bois que j’ai pas mal corrigé/redessiné depuis que je suis sur OSM

Et c’est tout pour cette semaine. Il est probable que je sois au moins actif sur OSM même, mais je prends une petite pause avec les vidéos le temps de régler ce petit problème personnel.
