English: A laneway surface in Parkdale, Toronto, in December 2024.
The laneway is lined on both sides with garages of varying construction and finish, many of which are covered in graffiti. The laneway dead-ends near the top of the photo with more garages. The main surface of the laneway is made from cast-in-place concrete. Compression gaps are seen, as is a stress crack across one of the poured slabs. There is also a square storm drain grate which has the year 2000 as one of its markings. Concrete cracks extend from three of its four corners. A small depression has been pushed into the laneway surface during construction, apparently to guide surface runoff towards the drain grate. The surface is damp following earlier rain. |
