This image is wrongly titled and is actually Spar dash, NOT pebble dash. This modern version was introduced by the building industry as a lower cost alternative to using actual pebbles which have to be dredged from the sea bed. This image shows a spar dashed wall, which is made from adding wet mortar to the wall and then flicking small FLINT CHIPS on to the wet surface. Source: neverpaintagain.co.uk
