This is an OSM high level overview diagram, to appear on the Component overview page, and as a wee image on the more prominent Develop page. It doesn't show all software components involved in OpenStreetMap, the idea is to represent key components and their relations.

The diagram has evolved over the years with a history of revisions going back to 2007 on the PNG version of this file at: File:OSM Components.png, with leap in beauty and complexity brought by Ivansanchez. This SVG version was created by Harry as a faithful conversion of the last raster version of that diagram (not so easy since we only had an open office source file from an earlier version).

As can be seen in the history here, Harry went on to make some changes to modernise and rename things, some of which is described in his SOTM 2017 talk, and Tigerfell made the most recent bunch of changes. Further improvements welcome!
