Português: A actual povoação de Idanha-a-Velha, pertencente ao concelho de Idanha-a-Nova, está edificada sobre as ruínas da importante cidade romana de Egitânia. Posteriormente, sob o domínio dos Visigodos, esta antiga localidade converteu-se numa próspera sede de bispado. O templo episcopal de Idanha-a-Velha é um edifício religioso onde coexistem elementos da cultura romana, paleocristã, visigótica e da Baixa Idade Média, o que lhe confere singular e exótica volumetria arquitectónica e original coabitação de estilos artísticos.
