Why should I? Nothing wrong with replacing existing geometry with new one, especially when existing geometry is of lower quality.

Anyway, I don't have time for that. Do as you like.

Uhh no. I loaded the square from task manager, merged my data, connected sidewalks to roads and as I was uploading the data I got conflicts. After synchronizing the dataset I saw your sidewalks and had to merge/delete them to proceed (since most of my sidewalks were already uploaded). You can check my history.
I wasn't even aware you were working on sidewalks in Gatineau before seeing those conflicts.

Anyway, you can use task manager to avoid this in the future: http://tasks.osmcanada.ca/project/177

It was not mass-deletion.

I had to delete/merge some of your sidewalks because we were working on the same area at the same time and after uploading I had to resolve multiple conflicts. I cleaned up and fixed everything and then you came in and reverted it all back.

Your revert did more damage than repair as it deleted multiple sidewalks on other streets that weren't replacing your sidewalks in the process.

Care to elaborate?

Hi Danny,
Any reason why you are deleting perfectly good mapillary tags like this one for retiremement residence?

Split the trail. Let me know if there are issues.

Hi, you assigned `drive-through=yes` tag to one of the corners of Burger King building instead of the building itself.

Noticed you tagged some houses on Norton avenue as building=apartments. Any particular reason?

thanks, fixed.

Hi,
I'm reviewing your edits - everything looks great but I'm wondering what's with the changeset comments?
Comments should include summary of your edits, not a list of computer games.
See some guidelines: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments
Cheers. Keep up the great work.

Please don't snap park boundaries to roads. It's local community practice, as well as global OSM consensus. See more information here: osm.wiki/Editing_Standards_and_Conventions
Thanks.

Hi, you should go through your recent changesets and correct "healthcare=alternativ" to "healthcare=alternative". Thanks.

`highway=mini_roundabout` has its use but this is clearly not a mini roundabout.

Could you provide the source of the dataset?

Hmm. Changing it to route=foot or route=hiking would probably require some discussion on talk_ca mailing list.
Not sure what to do, maybe change bicycle=no to bicycle=dismount tag on those trails.
Do what you think is right.
BTW, TCT was renamed to "The Great Trail". So maybe that needs updating too.

Also when you map any footways/cycleways/pathway make sure you connect them to something. Otherwise they will be useless for routing.

Hello,

I've noticed you mapped some bike lanes in Toronto. That's great and Toronto badly needs cycling infrastructure to be mapped.

The problem is that historically in OSM we are mapping painted bike lanes that are not physically separated from the road as a cycleway=lane tag on the road itself. See OSM wiki: osm.wiki/Bicycle

In Ottawa we compiled a guide how to map various cycling infrastructure with Canadian specifics. Have a look: https://github.com/BikeOttawa/OSM-Bike-Ottawa-Tagging-Guide

Hi,
This sign is for cars and it means "Bicycle crossing ahead", so it doesn't permit cycling on sidewalks unfortunately.

What are you thoughts about updating OCT routes to Public Transit v2 scheme while we are at it? Worth it?

Please stop tagging non-buildings as buildings.
Don't ignore warnings you see.
