Changeset When Comment

Dear WieKo68, in this changeset you have damaged this admin boundary by removing a part of it: relation/295881 - please be extra careful when editing administrative boundaries. Thank you! -- Frederik Ramm, OSMF Data Working Group.

In this changset you have added a temple called "JEFF THE POTATO" at the top of Mount Kenya which will have to be removed because it is fictional (and potentially offensive). Please explain. Do we have to remove your other edits as well because they are equally fictional, or was this a singular misstep?

In this changeset you have moved the whole coastal road way/607569924 and thereby created many issues with smaller roads connecting to it. Please double check that you're working to correctly adjusted aerial imagery and if you move a large road like this, also check all the connecting roads. See https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=65581458 for a comparison of before-after.

In this changeset you touched some nodes of way/587378751 which now intersects with itself and some buildings. Can you check?

This changeset has introduced a strange service road that overlaps with buildings and with itself: way/587378751. Please repair it. Thank you!

This changeset, as well as other world-wide or large-scale edits you have made, is a mechanical edit that requires prior discussion with the community. Have you discussed these edits, and if so, where?

Also, in this changeset you have changed several jewish places of worship to "building=synagogue". The building tag is used to say what the building was constructed as, not what purpose it currently serves. Have you researched that all the buildings you changed were indeed built as synagogues, or did you just make a guess?

I have deleted the objects now.

I would like to understand what this is for. You mapped an area with only one tag, natural=water, out on the sea. It is not marked as a "fairway" like its neighbour areas, and it does not have a name either, so what does this area mean? Can it be deleted?

The DWG has received a complaint about a different changeset comment that was disparaging to the original mapper (and that was written by a third party unrelated to either Accenture or Facebook as far as we know). I was just trying to understand the sequence of events. -- Jeff, do you have a link to the HOT task that was invalidated? -- wupiccsss, apparently you have registered a fresh account just to make this comment, may I ask why? Are you connected to any of the involved parties?

Jeff, have you contacted the mapper who created the circular buildings you reverted here, and explained the problem?

The Russian annexation of Crimea is a serious matter that should not be discounted as "fiction". Whatever you think of (a) the legality of the annexation and (b) the OSM rule of mapping on-the-ground rather than on-paper boundaries: If you're unhappy with a DWG decision, use the proper channels to complain - don't just revert. In fact the Ukrainian community *has* complained about the matter and the complaint is being dealt with. But that doesn't give you a free pass to disrespect a DWG decision in the mean time.

65188647 about 7 years ago

There is a process to deal with DWG decisions that you feel are "erroneous". This process is not "simply revert what DWG has done". Other members of the Ukrainian community have submitted a request for review for the DWG decision and that request is being considered. *While* that request is being considered, however, your edit cannot be allowed to stand.

The runway you have drawn in way/650701197 is not visible in the Bing imagery which you claim as a source. Is the source specification wrong, or the runway?

Hello stadiaarcadia, I am currently investigating a bunch of bad edits in Ayodhya and I noticed that you made a lot of changes here. How did you become aware of the area - are you using some sort of quality control tool? I notice that you are mapping around the world, always with a changeset comment of "Missing buildings added." even if you, like in this changeset, make a lot of other changes as well. I'd like to understand how you are working.

While it currently looks likely that the cited DWG decision will be revised before too long, please do not edit OSM boundaries based on UN resolutions. OSM boundaries are ot (and never have been) decided by UN resolutions. Until the OSMF board or the DWG say otherwise, relation/60199 depicts actual Ukrainian control on the ground and excludes Crimea.

This river meanwhile has 106 object versions, all created by you. The reason seems to be that you're always adding a few points to the river, then saving it again. This inflates the number of versions of the river we have to store, and also falsifies your edit count. Please don't do that. Complete an object, then save it.
