Whoa that's a lot at once ;) I think that it would be best to discuss this on community.openstreetmap.org where it is more likely to be found by someone stumbling across gas_topology later! I haven't thought about it in detail but my first ideas were: (1) if I only know start and end, should I really map a WAY (which indicates a linear geometry and therefore forces me to "lie" by claiming a straight line), or should I perhaps map a RELATION with two node members "from" and "to"? (2) should the thing I map really be called a "pipeline" that transports "gas_topology", or should it perhaps use a different top-level tag (e.g. could it be a "pipeline_topology" that transports "gas")? (3) is "there exists a pipeline somewhere between A and B" even mappable? -- all these could certainly benefit from a wider audience!

Hey there, can you explain what the substance "gas_topology" is meant to be? Is this something you have made up or the result of some community consensus or so? I couldn't find any documentation on the wiki yet "gas_topology" is the second most common substance (by total length of pipeline) in the UK.

Der Account von damals hat ja auch Ärger bekommen, weil er sich halt immer wieder zu Sprüchen wie aus "der Pate" hat hinreißen lassen, von wegen jetzt müssten Worten Taten folgen und ich geh da jetzt hin und überzeuge den "auf meine Art" und so. Das ist leider so, dass mit ein paar solchen Worten sehr viel kaputt machen kann. Da kann man jahrelang friedlich zu OSM beitragen, wenn einem dann sowas rausrutscht, hat man es schwer. Und erst recht, wenn das wieder und wieder passiert! Ich sperre jetzt den Account "mp747474" wegen persönlicher Drohungen und weil der*die Accountinhaber*in sowieso oben erklärt hat, nicht mehr mitmachen zu wollen. Ich bitte darum, mit dem Abschied von OSM diesmal auch Ernst zu machen - nicht so wie beim letzten Mal, wo es wenige Tage nach dem großen Abschied gleich wieder mit einem neuen Account weiterging.

Hallo mp747474, kannst Du mir erklären, (1) was ich mit dieser Diskussion zu tun habe, (2) wieso Du denkst, dass meine private Wohnadresse hier irgendwie hingehört, und (3) was Du mit dieser seltsamen Formulierung von "auf meine ganz eigene Weise davon überzeugen" meinst? Du solltest in Deinem eigenen Interesse ganz schnell eine Erklärung dafür finden, die sich nicht nach einer Drohung anhört, denn sonst besteht seitens OSM kein Interesse mehr an einer Mitarbeit von Dir.

Kennen wir uns? Dein Verhalten erinnert an einen Mapper aus der Region, der irgendwann mal mit wüsten Drohungen um sich geschmissen, dann seinen Account gelöscht hat, dann behauptet hat, die DWG habe ihn gelöscht, dann den Account wiederbekommen hat, nur um ihn später dann doch wieder zu löschen. Und dann noch zur Polizei gegangen ist, weil jemand ihn im Forum angeblich gedoxt habe. War das nicht sogar GUFSZ, der damals angezeigt wurde? Aber das kann nicht sein, denn so jemand hätte ja (1) aus dem Vorfall gelernt und würde (2) bestimmt nicht grundlos meine Privatadresse im Netz verbreiten, oder?

Auch die OSMF Data Working Group würde sich für die Quelle interessieren. Und bitte nicht wieder behaupten, die Gebäude wären Eckpunkt für Eckpunkt einzeln mit Tachymeter und GNSS-Empfänger eingemessen worden, das ist unglaubwürdig. @richtkreiser, bitte künfig IMMER und OHNE NACHFRAGE die richtigen Quellen angeben, statt des irreführenden Standardtexts "knowledge, survey"; ferner bitte auch gute Changeset-Kommentare verwenden, denn "Kartieren von Geodaten" passt auf 95% aller Beiträge zu OSM. 南昌地主 has written to DWG apologizing for their actions and promised to be better in the future. I have unblocked that account now; should this lead to further issues, please write to DWG again.

OpenStreetMap is a collaborative project in which everyone is welcome to record the reality on the ground; the university does not get to control what is (or is not) mapped on the university campus. There might, for example, be an "unofficial" path used by students but the university leadership does not want students to use it - nevertheless the path exists an can be recorded in OSM. The people who make these edits are not "random people", they are OSM mappers and they have 100% the same rights as your staff members have. OSM is not a tool by which to promote some "official" view of things; if you want full control over the map then you need to make a copy of OSM and edit it in a graphics program. OSM itself is independent of your university.

You deleted over 20 ways in this changeset, among them the whole of Penland Island, Brown Island, and Gibby Island. Please fix these problems or ask for help if you cannot do it yourself.

Hello, please do not assign a "name" of "byggnad" to buildings; you have already set the object type to building, that's enough. Only use "name" if the building actually has a name! Same for "Infart".

Hello, you have deleted about 50 buildings in this changeset but they are still visible on aerial imagery. You have not provided a reason for this deletion other than "j" so I assume it must have been a mistake; I am going to revert the deletion.

Has this large-scale addition of foreign keys ("ATP") been discussed anywhere? If not, it is a data import that validates our rules and needs to be (a) stopped and (b) reverted. I doubt that using the all-purpose "ref" would have passed muster in a discussion with the community...?

Dear aleksandra991, when adding new street names please specify the data source so that other mappers can ensure you are not using copyrighted material.

Hello dsmith2, in this changeset you deleted two dozen buildings which are still visible on our current aerial imagery. Have these houses been destroyed, or was this a mistake on your part?

In this changeset you have DELETED existing building outlines from OSM, and replaced them with rectangular areas tagged as "buildings" which are instead the plot boundaries. That is incorrect. Please do not do that. I will revert the edit.
