over 3 years ago | So has the residential area (I mean, the walled area along Renaissance Way, Medici Ln, etc.) been demolished? If so, the houses should also be deleted. I'm thinking you might have accidentally marked the existing sub-division as a parking area, but I have not personally been to the location to check.
over 3 years ago | Hi, it looks like you renamed this residential neighborhood as "Red Zone", did you mean to do that? way/900319284
over 3 years ago | Reverted in changeset/123240069, with the gas station turned into an area.
| 123213482 | over 3 years ago | Hi, welcome to OpenStreetMap! In this changeset, it looks like you extended a roof to cover the whole area of a gas station. Areas mapped with a building= tag are supposed to match actual buildings on the ground. Here, the buildings are a roof over the fuel nozzles and a separate convenience store building. If you want to indicate that a whole area is part of a business, you can draw an area with the proper amenity= or shop= tag, but don't add a building= tag. I'm going to try and repair this one, but something to watch for in future edits.

over 3 years ago | Hello, it looks like you removed amenity=place_of_worship from this church, and added building=church. These two tags are not synonymous, as building=church indicates the building was built as a church, and amenity=place_of_worship indicates it functions as a current church. I am going to re-add these erroneously deleted tags.
| 122936022 | over 3 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM. Do you have any evidence that this is the actual name of this house, like a sign on the ground? If something was in a movie a long time ago, it does not mean that it has the name of that movie. See osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only for how names in OSM work.

over 3 years ago | Hello, what is your evidence for this edit? I live near here and I am pretty sure this left turn is allowed.
over 3 years ago | I tried to neaten things (removing overlaps by adding the rock formations in Boney Mountain as inner ways, and making the multipolygons smaller) here: changeset/122775190.
over 3 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM. Did you intend to make these landcovers very large multipolygon relations? I think each one could probably be its own area, such large relations (like 14277075) can be difficult to work with, and they seem to overlap some existing landcovers. Also, are you mapping these based on imagery alone, or have you been to these places? I've only been around here a couple times, but I think some of these scrub areas look more like grassland to me, like near Rancho Sierra Vista (though in CA, I acknowledge the line can be pretty thin between the two)
over 3 years ago | Hello. In the United States, "addr:state" refers to the US state the address is in, where the correct value is the two letter postal code. In this case, the correct value is CA. Please keep this in mind in future edits.
over 3 years ago | Hi, unfortunately we are not allowed to use Google maps as a source for OSM, as Google has not given permission for use of their copyrighted material in a way compatible with our license: osm.wiki/FAQ#Why_don't_you_just_use_Google_Maps/whoever_for_your_data?. Your edits may need to be reverted.
over 3 years ago | Hello, welcome to OpenStreetMap. What is your source for this edit? Also, it looks like there are numerous typos, for example in the name, website, city, and zip code. Please exercise more care in future edits.
over 3 years ago | All of us are volunteers, and we welcome edits to the project that are from legitimate sources and improve the quality of OSM data. However, a number of players from your game have been recently making low quality edits, often apparently using sources from whom we do not have permission to copy. So the OSM community is quickly becoming suspicious of these sorts of edits. Please use care to learn and follow our guidelines in any future mapping, even if it slows your progress/cash flow in your game.
over 3 years ago | I went ahead and deleted this parking lot node here: changeset/122229941. The node was extraneous since the parking lot was already mapped as an area anyway.
over 3 years ago | This comment hasn't yet received a response @Avasquez, what source did you have in making these changes?
over 3 years ago | I went ahead and reverted this changeset and some others of yours here: changeset/122215905, as they didn't conform to the building naming guidelines and introduced a couple other errors. I then added a retail area around Olvera in this change: changeset/122216013. I don't think I've removed any information that wasn't already in the database, but if there's something missing you felt like you had added, let me know and we can discuss the best tags for it.
over 3 years ago | As for the tagging of Olvera Street itself, its old tagging (highway=pedestrian) implies no vehicle access, so it was appropriate for this way.
over 3 years ago | Thanks for responding. In OSM, buildings are only named if they have a formal name in real life, not as descriptions (see, for example the nearby Pico House: relation/12292681). If you want to name a shopping area, it's better to draw an area around it and tag it landuse=retail. I've been to Olvera St many times, so I can say from experience that this tag is appropriate. If you want to tag individual artisan shops, you can add a node at the shop's location with a tag like shop=gift (tourist-oriented items). Or you can use a more specific value, like if they sell art (shop=art) or clothes (shop=clothes). You can see a whole list of shop tags here: shop=*
over 3 years ago | Hello, when adding a shop to a building with multiple shops, it's better practice to add a node for the shop, rather than adding its tag to the whole building. Also, what is your source for these edits? I can't find anything on the web indicating there's a clothing shop by this name here.
over 3 years ago | Hi Anthony, if you take a look at the history of this way, you'll see it's gone back and forth between trunk and motorway. Eventually, we decided to adhere to the CA-wide standard of where the "End Freeway" sign is (osm.wiki/California/Map_features). Here, that sign is at Lincoln: node/9523487423. Moreover, this segment has a very low speed limit for a motorway (45 mph). Did you have a reason to upgrade this segment back to motorway?
