almost 2 years ago | Hi Heinz, I see some sections of NH44 near Hebbal interchange, Bengaluru, have been tagged as secondary. AFAICT the road underneath the flyover is part of NH44 and should be highway=trunk, like the section of NH44 near BETL or the section of NH75 with the elevated expressway.
about 2 years ago | Hi, this road is public. The gate is only there to prevent vehicles from parking and blocking the road, not to prevent access to the road itself. I have reverted it to public, and switched back to highway=residential
about 2 years ago | Hi, thank you for your edit, but this way does exist on the ground. It is only open during specific hours, but the correct way to tag that is access=yes@(opening_hours), not just deleting the way. This way is actively used by commuters and buses, so please re-insert the way.
about 2 years ago | Hi, this road is tagged as "Kadabeesanahalli Main Road" because that's what the RMP-2031 draft calls it. It does connect to Kadabeesanahalli, so the name does make sense as well.
about 2 years ago | Hi, thank you for your edit. I noticed you have changed some roads to the "service" classification, however these are not service roads. Service only applies if the road provides access to a service, like a parking entrance, a driveway, etc. These are regular residential roads, and should be tagged as residential, *not* service
about 2 years ago | Hi, bicycle=no does not apply to a *cycleway*
about 2 years ago | Hi, thank you for your edit. However I noticed that you removed a link which clearly exists on the ground. Could you please re insert the link at Marathahalli bridge, it exists and is very much used by people on a daily basis.
over 2 years ago | Hi, thank you for your changes. Generally private roads inside gated communities should be tagged as highway=residential, *not* highway=service. highway=service implies access to services, or a driveway, and these roads are neither
over 2 years ago | Hi, thank you for your changes. However Cubbon park roads are not 'service roads'. They are public thoroughfare roads between Mon-Fri, and should be tagged as tertiary, since they don't offer access to services (highway=service) or buildings (highway=residential). The access tag should also not be private, but rather a conditional tag for blocking access only on specific days. access=*
over 2 years ago | Hi, thank you for the edit. I noticed that many "service roads" were tagged as highway=service. highway=service is confusingly, *not* for tagging frontage/service roads osm.wiki/Frontage_road . Instead, these are to be tagged as highway=tertiary/residential as appropriate. highway=service is mostly for accessing individual services, like a parking lane, a private driveway, etc. Could you please check and adjust the roads you've changed? Thanks
over 2 years ago | Hi, RMZ Ecoworld's "internal road" is not private. It is a public road which people can use, without any company stickers. It should be tagged as highway=secondary, without access=private.
almost 3 years ago | Hi, thank you for the changeset. However, I think highway=unclassified makes more sense for roads that are for public usage. highway=service is only for when the road is used to access a single building (e.g. a road within a petrol bunk, or a road within an apartment complex). The name unclassified is misleading, its basically the road classification above residential roads but below "main roads".
almost 3 years ago | Hi, thank you for your changeset. However I noticed you've changed way/1075551092 to be a single way without the oneway tag, which is incorrect. It is dual carriageway, so should be mapped with two one ways, like it was previously. Also your changeset seems to affect a very large part of the country, could you please split your changesets to cover smaller regions in the future? It makes reviewing easier
about 3 years ago | Hi, I think since its just a bus lane on the left, it should just be busway:left=lane on the main highway=trunk for ORR. However I think BMRCL has dismantled the bus lane to construct the blue line, so it probably should be removed until the bus lanes are rebuilt.
about 3 years ago | Hi, sorry I should've mentioned it in the initial comment: I'm referring to way/1105437334
about 3 years ago | Hi, thanks for your edits. Apartment buildings should be tagged with building=apartments and other building tags, not landuse tags, could you please revert the changes?
about 3 years ago | Hi, thank you for your edits. There are no "guided busways" on ORR, the bus lanes would be best marked as busway:left=lane. See busway=*
about 3 years ago | Yep this change makes sense to me. The reason I had marked it as primary previously was because I thought those sections were accessible through almost-complete-but-not-asphalted sections, but the satellite imagery is outdated, and I haven't had any excuse to survey the CDP roads :D, so leaving them as highway=construction is fine
about 3 years ago | Hi, there seem to be some roads that are inside appartment complexes marked with highway=residential. These should be marked with highway=service. Also it appears some of the roads are possibly just walkways for residents, not ways for cars to drive. And the roads intersect with buildings which shouldn't happen
over 3 years ago | Hi, Thanks for pointing this out. I have fixed the issue now in a separate changeset
