However the references you have added are not actual names, the are references give by the local authority. The consensus is that these should be added as prow_ref and not in the name tag. It is perfectly possible that a section of path will have an actual name.

More specialis renders of the OSM database will show prow_ref for example http://map.atownsend.org.uk/maps/map/map.html#zoom=17&lat=52.827408&lon=-2.02451

Please don't do this.

This is legal restriction and we need capture what the sign actually says.

In the UK all height restrictions are in feet and inches, some are dual signed in metres. Only then should we add the height in metres.

A height restriction to 4 decimal places is clearly ridiculous.

OSM is primarily a database, the map as displayed on osm.org is just a demonstration.

You can choose to render a map yourself, many do such as http://map.atownsend.org.uk/maps/map/map.html#zoom=10&lat=52.1604&lon=-4.085

If you want to see the map in a specific language you can choose https://maps.wikimedia.org/?lang=cy#9/51.9189/-4.4852 or https://maps.wikimedia.org/?lang=en#9/51.9189/-4.4852 it is much more than pre-rendered tiles.

My satnav is OSMand which allows me to choose the map language. Personally I choose Welsh, brings up some interesting stuff but you could choose English.

A mapper has already added a very big clue, designation=public_footpath which indicates that this only has public access rights on foot.

This again is not a public road, the existing designation=public_footpath tag should be a clue that it is not a right of way for vehicles.

At best this should be highway=service with appropriate access tags, motor_vehicle/bicycle/horse=private, foot=yes.

Beyond Penkridge Hall it should certainly still a be track.

Changing a track to highway=unclassified seems rather unlikely here. It does not look like a public road from aerial imagery, highway=service would be more appropriate here.

You are right, it is a recent edit but it is following international practice, which for nationally important areas does seem to be the way we should be moving.

The only caveat I would add with this format is that both name:en and name:cy need to be present to allow rendering in each language.

My understanding is that Mapio Cymru was an independant project to encourage the addition of Welsh placenames to OSM and is not owned by OSM.

Although it doesn't really help as https://openstreetmap.cymru/ is more about placenames and doesn't really show National Parks.

Hi, I am a bit confused by this edit.

In a bilingual country it makes a lot of sense to use the names as they appear on the signs as you enter. However you seem to have undone this and removed the name:en tag. Just wondering why?

Hi, welcome to OSM and thank you for your edit, however I have a couple of concerns.

Firstly I can find no evidence that Mountsorrel station is called anything other than Mountsorrel. I am puzzled as to why you have added Bond Lane to it. If that is an address then it should be in the addr:street field.
Also please be careful when moving between areas that are far apart. Whilst yo made no real change to the Southwold Railway the editor still created a large bounding box. In these cases it is better to exit from the editor.

Hi, your mapping is a bit ambiguous here as you have placed the bollard on the connecting node between the road and cycleway.

Does the bollard prevent motor vehicles from accessing Wall Close or the cycleway.

Do cyclists need to avoid the bollard?

Hi, in this edit you have created a duplication.

You have created way/814425220 which is a duplication of the existing way/84163888, which carries the right of way.

Rather than create duplications please update the existing ways.

In the case of schools the name should be on the campus only, the building should be tagged simply as building=school.
