Hi, these imports took me a bit by surprise.

In https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-gb/2016-March/018586.html Brian suggested that you give mappers time to consider these proposals, check that they were associated with the correct object within their area and that you should only import after being invited by mappers in that county.
You do seem to have ignored that and gone ahead regardless of engagement with the UK/IE community.
The shear size of these means that it will take us time to work our way through these and we do also have a life and whilst OSM is important to me, wikidata tags beyond their impact on OSM are not.
Please be patient and give us time to review before going ahead with any more imports without consulting the regular mappers with local knowledge, the best way to find these is probably through #osm-gb / #osm-ie.

Sorry, the deli bit made it look like a spam edit

37877114 almost 10 years ago

Thanks, I have already changed it and added a few more that I remember

Hi, welcome to openstreetmap.
The name tag is for verifable names of objects, it is a ventilation tower but that belongs in a tag such as tunnel=ventilation tower rather than the name.
I am certain it has no name that it is known locally by, and Don Juan Deli is totally ridiculous.

Hi, you seem to have split the previously incorrect path and mapped what are clearly druveways as paths.
These should be removed, this type of mapping needs boots on the ground.

Please can you explain this addition?

Thanks Phil

Hi, welcome to OSM.
OSM is a geographical database to reflect what already exists, it is not intended to make requests for changes to the road system.
I have reverted this change.

I suspect adding a roundabout here would be a bad idea as it would make right turns from Sturdee Road easier hence turning it into a rat run.

Hi, just wondering why you deleted the Abergavenny node and recreated it?

Thanks Phil

Hi
I see that you have added height information to a number of summits, please could you tell me the source of this information?
Thanks Phil

I don't think that node/4010964075 and others should be amenity=charging_station, these are intended to map facilities for charging electric vehicles.
I suspect these are moorings with electric hookups and these are normally tagged as mooring=yes, power_supply=yes.

Hi
Rather than adding names to the pitches, it is better to tag them as leisure=pitch sport=soccer, sport=rugby_union etc.
The name tag is intended if they have a verifiable name, rather than as a description.

Hi
Welcome to OSM.
A homeless shelter should be tagged as social_facility = shelter
social_facility:for = homeless

The tourism tag should not be used in this case,

Please.can you explain this? addr:housenumber is a very odd tag for a bus stop.
Thanks Phil

Hi again
You seem to have created a duplicate node for Colemere. It is a village btw, the existing node is here node/335607936

Hi
Something has gone a little wrong in this changeset, when you created the drive into Creamore House Farm you managed to join it and the existing road to the hedge. This is caused by mapping whilst zoomed out too far and then josm will join to any way. You do need to zoom in so that you can place the nodes precisely.
There are already hedges around some of the farms, it would be useful to use these and join to them.
Lowe Hall and other localities you have mapped really belong in addr:housename, they are not localities. Simply copying the names off OS does not help us make a better map.

This really belongs in openhistoricalmap, I am giving the original mapper a couple of
days to respond before I remove them.

Hi, welcome to OSM.
Don't worry about the historic pubs, the really don't belong in OSM as we map what exists and is verifiable. I have commented on the addition of those historic pubs and am waiting for a response from the other mapper.

Historic pubs do not really belong in OSM, we aim to map what exists today.
There is a project http://www.openhistoricalmap.org which is based on OSM where you can add historic item.

Should this, and other amenities mapped within the University be mapped as access=private.
There are security gates on Mayor's Walk so I imagine if I was to try to use this cafe, or one of the cash points I would be removed by a very large security guard.
