Access tags are about legal access rather than ownership. This is for all practical purposes a public highway, with a toll.
What are you trying to achieve with this change?

Thank you for this addition, it is clearly a new residential area.
However when mapping please consider the existing mapping, in this case landuse, and adjust the residential area to incorporate this new development.

Hi, this should be tagged access=private. There are signs saying "Residents Only".

Also imagery suggests that there is not a ford here and the stream can be seen entering a culvert to the south.
Often when mapping in rural areas lwaterways need to be improved, OS Opendata Streetview is a good source for this.

Hi, this edit has gone a little wrong.
Imagery suggests that there is only a single way here which had originally been mapped as a footpath. Rather than create a duplication, this should have been merged and corrected.
This a legally a public footpath, a right of way on foot only, so the access tagging can very easilybe deduced.
foot=designated
bicycle=private
horse=private
motor_vehicle=private

Hope this helps, Phil

Hi, this edit has gone very wrong.
You have created a routeable link through what is very clearly a private roads.
The bit through farm buildings should give a hint of this.
This and way/698314468 should be tagged as access=private. Remember the act of ordering something for delivery is an invitation to access private roads.
From my memory this is simply signed off the A53 with the name of a farm.

Hi, when using QA tools you should not take them too literally. Foot=designated is used by UK mappers on PROWs to indicate that foot is not only allowed, but is a legal right.
I consider that removing such tags is a loss of important information.
Please restore these tags as they are an important part of mapping in the UK.

Hi, this edit has gone a little wrong. This is a shared driveway and should be mapped as highway=service, service=driveway, access=private.
When adding highway=residential please remember that it is highly unlikely that the mapper will have missed a road but they are unlikely to map private driveways.

Also why have you changed way/350314926/history to a tunnel ?

72325179 over 6 years ago

Hi, what evidence have you that these are signed as A roads?
I am local and am they are certainly not signed as A roads and it is very obvious that these changes will cause some very stupid routing.
In OSM we map what we see and this type of armchair edit is extremely unhelpful.

I was only joking with you, hope you enjoyed Offa's Dyke.

That part of Shropshire is very Welsh, driving out that way you feel like you are in Wales long before you leave Shropshire.

Trefonen is in Wales? :)

Hi, this edit has gone a little bit wrong. You have added a name to a postbox, which cannot be correct.
I am reverting this change.

Hi Narod
This series of changesets have made this section of the A444 incorrect and very misleading.
Separate ways should only be used when there is a physical separation, which is not the case here.
If you want to represent lanes you should use lane tagging.
You have also broken the connectivity of footpaths, which no longer connect at osm.org/go/eu2oE9TpZ?m= and at osm.org/go/eu2oE4JoE--?m=
Also you have made the properties at the later location only accessible when travelling south, which imagery shows not to be true.
Please continue adding to OSM, but please do not add misleading information.
Cheers Phil
