Hi Jon, thank you for removing that.
To answer your questions firstly the forum gets very little attention in the UK, we are far more active on the talk-gb mailing list https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-gb.
OSM is a geographical database that can be rendered in many ways. The cycling layer is just a specialized render of OSM data, emphasising those features of interest to cyclists.
OSM data is mostly created by the public, we import very little in the UK and that is mostly boundaries.
The GPS tracks may have comments stating what they are, we essentially upload gpx files. Most of mine are from my gps, occasionally they maybe from OSMand, but that will be car and road stuff.
Routes in OSM are done as relations, a collection of ways, but these should be verifiable i.e. signed on the ground.
For creating my own routes I use graphhopper.com, which allows via points and different modes.

Hi, not sure if you have been here, and I am assuming that this is an armchair edit, but this is very clearly not a peak as it is on the side of a hill.
Please only map things that actually exist.

Hi, not sure if you have been here, and I am assuming that this is an armchair edit.
Imagery confirms that this a flat area in a campsite, if there was a peak here once it has long been flattened meaning it has no place in OSM.

Please only map things that actually exist.

Hi, not sure if you have been here, and I am assuming that this is an armchair edit, but from my experience this is a pretty flat area. Trains do not climb peaks very well and this is certainly not a peak.
Please only map things that actually exist.

Hi, this edit has gone a bit wrong.

You seem to have created a duplication of existing ways. Please do not do this. There are route planning apps available in OSM and that use is, for example grapphopper.com.

No evidence of a peak

Hi, thank you for your edit however in order for objects to be useful in OSM you need to add tags describing what they are. In this case you are missing building=yes?
Cheers Phil

I hope it also qualifies for tv=no too :)

There is no evidence that this is a peak, its the edge of a ploughed field

No evidence that this is a named peak (plus obvious spelling mistake)
