| 96793033 | over 3 years ago | G'day, I just drove up Albany Hwy and (as we passed by at 110kph), I could not see any evidence of a fuel station on the corner of Chinninup Rd as you created on Feb 1st last year. Could you please clarify what you intended for this location ?

| 81247026 | over 5 years ago | On (another) constructive note, I have used that "surface=metal" tag on other roads. I don't have the skills with the OSM database to find them. Are you able to help locate and fix these instances? (change them to "paved" I suppose) |
| 81247026 | over 5 years ago | As a mature-aged, frequent and well-intentioned contributor to OSM, even after a night's sleep, I'm still pissed-off with the tone of your edit comment. I expect (and welcome) people pointing-out that I am doing something wrong because I would be embarrassed to find out I had been making the same mistake over-and-over again for years, and had made a mess within OSM. In order to limit the bad feeling and broken relationships within the OSM community, your edit comment could have been written along the following lines: "Thanks for your edit, however:
Note:
I think even on a bad day, I would not be offended by the tone of a message written in such a way. I would also feel a tad embrarrassed that I made the typo, and that I hadn't checked the OSM Wiki mefore using the tag "metal". We could have started a constructive discussion on what the road name should be. |
| 81247026 | over 5 years ago | The polite "thanks for your edit" was quickly washed away with an aggressive attack there.
I would have only changed the name of the road because that is what the sign on Albany Highway says. I thought we are meant to map "what is on the ground", and yet you say that the sign is wrong? What are we meant to be mapping. While I am very happy to be picked-up on my mistakes, I would ask that next time you do it in a more tactful way (sarcasm has no place in correcting wayward users) that doesn't piss me off quite as much as you have on this occasion. |
| 73453717 | about 6 years ago | Treadly, I am trying to maintain an up-to-date GPX file of the Munda Biddi Trail for the MBT Foundation, and looking at changes in OSM related to the Munda Biddi. I notice on 18 Aug, you made a change that might be related. I'm still learning about analysing changesets, but it looks like you removed the name Munda Biddi Trail from the path that follows around the Collie River. Do you know for sure whether this is or isn't part of the trail? (The Munda Biddi Alternate Route stopped well short of Collie until I extended it up to the first Collie River crossing in the last day or so, but I need to finish it through to Soldiers Park.

| 75805573 | about 6 years ago | How come you were notified of my change? I'm thinking that as part of the process of trying to maintain an up-to-date GPX of the whole trail, it would be good to know if anyone changed the Munda Biddi route relation. Do you know if that is possible ? |
| 75805573 | about 6 years ago | I am also trying to maintain a more up-to-date GPX file of the whole route than the one on the government website. You don't happen to have a GPX file encompassing this "new" alignment do you? |
| 75805573 | about 6 years ago | Ewen, I have reverted the change. We were basing our route data in the first instance from the official DBCA GPX file on the government website (which is nearly 18 months old). The original route was down Scarp Rd, so the alignment you rode must be "new-ish" (ie a change after the original alignment. Based on your advice (and the fact someone has mapped it out to the west), I believe that more than the DBCA GPX file. |
| 75805573 | about 6 years ago | That's very interesting Ewan because I am part of a team re-working the section maps for each MBTF volunteer, and I was told it had been redirected down Scarp road (hence my edit). When did you ride that section? I'll have to go back and double-check with my source. |
| 69226201 | over 6 years ago | I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with unravelling changesets to work-out exactly what I did wrong. Did I put a crossing on the PSP where it is a bridge or something ? |
| 52060356 | over 8 years ago | yes, thanks for that. I tried fixing it using the web editor for the first time (I usually use JOSM) - just check my fix worked. |
| 51610561 | over 8 years ago | wow, there's untypical values on highway to keep you going for a while. You are obviously a "super-user". Keep up the good work. |
| 51610561 | over 8 years ago | Gerd, how do you spot these errors? I am surprised JOSM didn't tell me "suspicious way type" (or some sort of error message). |
| 51610561 | over 8 years ago | also now fixed (maybe now I will remember the right way to do it next time :-)) |
| 51610561 | over 8 years ago | Thanks Gerd, I hope it is fixed now. There is a bridge in one place, and a ford in the other. |
| 40676874 | over 8 years ago | done - thanks for alerting me to the problem |
| 40676874 | over 8 years ago | I am puzzled and embarrassed! It looks like it is a replica of a path that is there now - but moved. I think I should delete it - do you agree ? |
