It seems like mapping piers is the same as mapping buildings. For example, building=yes doesn't need an area=yes tag.

The wiki says, "piers can be tagged as areas" which I believe is the same meaning as with buildings?

Hi! Why add area=yes to piers? The wiki says they can be mapped as areas so that would make this tag unnecessary.

Looks like you're right. I'll update it real quick. Thanks for the pointer!

Appreciate the explanation. I'll leave it as is although my gut still tells me the chunks along the road are sidewalks. :-)

Hello! Any reason these sidewalks along Canal Street were changed to highway=cycleway? Per the wiki, "Tagging a way with highway=cycleway implies that the route is designated for bicycles."

This seems like a slightly wider sidewalk meant to accommodate bikes but not necessarily designed for bikes.

Hi and welcome to OSM! Just would like to point out Bavette is already mapped as you can see at the link below. Their main function is as a Butcher so that is the tag that was selected.

Hi ciwen, you might consider taking Shorewood High School out of the building names since they're within the Shorewood High School area.

Also, is Shorewood Intermediate School a separate school or part of SHS?

Thanks for adding all of this great information!

I think if someone asked about how to get to the Milwaukee train station, the intermodal would be assumed one unless you live on the south side of the county. Either way, I think your explanation makes good sense and I'll just leave it as is. Thanks for taking the time to explain!

Hi, I'm curious why the name of this train station was changed? Milwaukee has 2 train stations. One at the airport and one downtown at the Intermodal Station. The website lists the name as "Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Intermodal Station."

What's a layby? I don't see it in the wiki. Wouldn't think it would matter much though as the amenity=parking is what would be showing either way.

74356261 about 6 years ago

Thanks for the pointer. I removed the amenity=library tag. I'll look into starting a discussion. It looks like someone else already has a question about it in the wiki.

Hi, I'm checking why you remove "Paint Store" from Sherwin-Williams locations? The store signs have Paint Store on them and it looks like they have different types of stores such as "Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Store."

I've added the xmas:feature=market tag. The other tags seem to be duplicates of existing tags for name, opening_hours, website, etc. So I've left those off.

Thanks for the guidance. I'll take a look. Thanks also for the kind words. I come across your work around town too and it's always great!

Hey MidwestMapGeek,

I'm wondering where you found the name for this? I was looking this up and it sounds like the Fairy Chasm Natural area a little north in Mequon was originally called Fairy Chasm Ravine and then changed. I just updated fish creek's outline so figured I'll do the ravine too. :-)

I think I also used the mapbox images and forgot to add it to my source list.

57470716 over 7 years ago

I used the cited sources for rough outlines, private gpx tracks collected with OSM+ and private images collected with a go pro 5. For cyclecways and other details I use either the images collected with the go pro or observations when I'm driving around (I'm in the area a lot).

Hey, I had changed the name back to Concourse E because Closed isn't it's name it is it's status. I had removed the name and added access=no and a description. If you're alright with it I think the (Closed) should be removed.

I appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

I noticed that as well when I made it. I couldn't find a good way to demonstrate it being a German community centre. I'll remove it but do you have any idea what I can use to indicate this? Thanks.
