Hi, it's halfway demolished but not completely razed. I had considered the different options (slow demolition isn't really covered) and practice is uneven. Would prefer a building=demolition to mirror construction, but that's not common. Have restored the building tag, but think it should reflect the current reduced status. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the edit! Tips: 1. If the tags on the node were just wrong, they could just all be changed (not applicable here, since the Food Mart is mapped). 2. If the service station had an available area but was just closed, then the non-valid-tags (name, website) could be removed, leaving any address tags for the next tenant. The type could have a "lifecycle prefix" prepended, like "disused:shop" with no quotes. 3. Last, if the object had no still-valid tags, it could be deleted completely, as I think in this case. Hi, it's clear from your edits that you prefer the "contact:" prefix, but please don't convert the more simple and popular "website" tags. The one you removed was there first, the documentation lists them as parallel tagging, and mass converting these is not correct.

I think it's considered up to the consuming software to process it. There is a list of conversions apparently used by the OSM Nominatum tool that looks actively maintained (osm.wiki/Name_finder:Abbreviations) and paid services like smarty.com which validate these. Hi, thanks for the edits! Just a tip, one of the OSM mapping norms (there are many!) is to expand abbreviations in street names (Ln -> Lane, SE -> Southeast) since they can be hard to expand automatically. Also, should "Chesnut" be "Chestnut"? :-) Keep it up!

Hi, for this church building, building=yes (which you added) is fine, but since the church is no longer open, you can add the "disused:" prefix to the key (as in "disused:amenity=place_of_worship") so we know it's no longer open. See osm.wiki/Lifecycle_prefix

Hi again, I modified a few tags on this edit - good job adding the address. 1. I expanded "Hwy" to "Highway" in the street name. 2. I moved the "105" unit to the "addr:unit" tag 3. A supermarket is a large store with carts, the primary use of your newly added store is "clothes", so I changed it to "shop=clothes".

Hi, welcome to OSM! Your edits are pretty good for just starting! Just a few suggestions. 1. When deleting a closed business, first see if you can just delete the business-specific tags, leaving others (like the address) there for the next tenant. 2. When drawing buildings, you can "square" almost 90 degree corners by pressing 'q', or right-click then "square". 3. Words in names should generally start with a capital letter, like "Royal Biryani House" rather than "royal biryani house". There are other tips, but once again, your edits aren't bad! Keep it up and please ask if you have questions!

Sorry I forgot to say, you should zoom in, then right-click a feature and select "Query Features", then select objects from the list that appears.

Hi, welcome to OSM and thanks for the edits! It takes a while to get used to mapping, so keep at it. I did fix some issues with your changes. 1. I changed the driveway tags from "living street" to "highway=service" and "service=driveway". 2. I removed the descriptive names like "House", since names are more like "Main Street" or "Starbucks". For unnamed things, just the tags are enough. If you have questions, please let me know!

Last, I removed the address tags from the building. If the building has only one address, it's okay to apply it to the building outline, but in this case there are multiple addresses, so separate nodes are preferable. Thanks for those too, addresses are helpful!

Hi again, thanks for adding these buildings! They look pretty good. One tip: After drawing the outline and adding the building tag, you can either press 'q' to make any almost-square corners 90 degrees, which looks better. Also, since the imagery shows the building at an angle, some would say you can draw the roof, then press 'm', then drag the building outline to align with where it meets the ground. Here the shift is small, so what you've done is probably okay.

Second, since "Crystal Creek Town Homes" applies to the entire community, I drew an area around all of the houses, added the landuse=residential tag, and moved the name onto the new area.
