Changeset When Comment

Hi again, I haven't had a chance to review all of the edits, but another thing to suggest is that before moving from one editing area to another one far away, it's a good idea to save/upload your changeset. That way the change notifications are kept local. Thanks again, if you have questions please feel free to ask!

Hi, thanks for the edits! It takes a while to get road classifications right, but here are some tips: Almost all of the roads you added in this changeset should probably be 'residential', not 'unclassified'. Once you get outside the dense group of houses, the back road which connects to the next group of houses looks like it would be 'unclassified'. Thanks again!

Hi, thanks for updating the map, this is useful and appreciated! When you deleted this music shop, you also deleted the address info, which should be left in for the next tenant! Please do not remove the entire node; just remove the out-of-date tags. You can do this in your editor (OsmAnd) under Actions->Modify POI->Advanced Tab. There you can delete attributes like "name", "shop", "opening_hours", "website" one at a time by clicking the 'x'. (I've already restored this last removed address.) Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the recent edits! I didn't review all of them, but the two school ones looked pretty good! One comment: according to the OSM wiki it appears that the school name goes with the amenity=school tag on the surrounding school grounds (which it already was for the middle school). Please let me know though if you disagree. Thanks again!

Hi, thanks for the update! One comment: it sounds like the business just closed, and deleting the node loses the address. In those cases, you can remove any tags related to the business but leave the address for the next tenant. (Actually I usually try to leave addresses in as much as possible!) If too difficult in OSMAnd, it’s really easy to do using the iD editor (one click to ‘downgrade’). If you have questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks again!

Hi, thanks for the edit, addresses are a great thing to add! A couple of comments:

1. It appears you added house number 2200, but on the odd-numbered side of the street.

2. Please keep in mind that we add addresses to the building outline only if it applies to the entire building, if there are multiple addresses (or we’re not sure) adding a separate node within the building outline (but not attached to it) and set back from the main entrance is fine! If you have questions, feel free to ask. Thanks again and hope to see more edits!

Hi, welcome to OSM and thanks for the edit! The edit looks pretty good, just wondering if you were certain about the house number? The website (and street level imagery) seem to indicate 1706 (instead of 1700). Thanks again, and hope to see more edits!

Hi, and welcome to OSM! Thanks for the edits, good to see them. From checking the OSM streetlevel imagery, my guess is that this road is actually an unnamed service road, mainly since 2nd Avenue continues on as the main road, and though nearby named streets have signs, there isn't one here. Other friendly suggestions: if you could, please expand the Ave abbreviations on the building addresses as well, and most important, please don't refer to other sources (other maps, Google, etc) as that data is most likely copyrighted and therefore unavailable for our use! I haven't heard of "City Maps", but guessing it's probably off-limits. Thanks again!

We'd like to help you get started -- if you do think something should be added to the map, maybe you can add a "note". Go to osm.org, and click the button on the right side that says "Add a note to the map", then describe what is missing. We can try to help!

Hi, welcome to OSM! I have looked at your changes, and it looks like you are adding your own personal information to the map (such as where you work). If that's true, that is not what OSM is meant for. Cafes, bars and parks are okay to add, if other people can find and use them. Can you confirm if "Bendo Coffee" is an official coffee business? If not, it may be removed. Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to OSM! It looks like you're referencing a copyrighted map for your changes. Please don't! Will send you info in a separate email.

Hi, welcome to OSM! Thanks for the edit, I went in and fixed the street name (it looks like the Northeast goes in front) and expanded the abbreviations. If you have any questions please reach out! Thanks again!

Hi, thanks for the edit! I think "landuse=residential" is very close, but not the right preset for this case; it should rather be "building=apartments". If the entire building is the apartments, I'd select the entire building outline and tag it "name=The Pop" and "building=apartments" instead (just like The Junction and Six Oaks on the next block). Tagging "building" on a node is sometimes done, but usually when the building outline hasn't also been drawn. Please let me know if you have questions! Thanks again.

Hi, and welcome to OSM! Thanks for the correction -- it looks like both 300 and 302 were both already on the map, just their locations were swapped. Tip: The easier way to fix it was just dragging the nodes around to the right spot, but no problem! Since now there are two 302 nodes, I'll just change the one in the back to say 300 based on your recommendation. Thanks again, and if you notice anything else, please feel free to reach out!

Hi, welcome to OSM and thanks for adding the address! You got through all the steps for making an edit, but looks like you could use a hand. Will send a separate email with a few steps.

:) Not exactly, but I'm impressed you noticed! I was using search to zoom back to my city but made a typo which found these; thought I might as well fix them, but felt sheepish doing it! Thanks for the fun note, and all the work. Cheers!

Hi, welcome to OSM and thanks for the edit! I went ahead and added some capitalization, the cuisine of coffee_shop, and the website, but your addition was already helpful. Thanks again, and hope to see more edits!

Hi, I noticed that you modified the access tags for the West Seattle Bridge (east of 99). I believe (from my own survey a few weeks ago) that the span east of Hwy 99 is still open to traffic, so I already edited the area accordingly. Do you mind if I ask if you based your edits on a more recent survey? I do appreciate your effort, but not sure the changes are correct. Thanks!
