Hi Necessarycoot72. Thank you for your contributions to openstreetmap. I'm curious here if Black Island (way/1180048875) strictly speaking should be an inner of Thompsom Lake since it is connected to the shore by a causeway.

Thank you for your contribution to osm kisslstvan. Unfortunately it looks like you used an older (pre-2023) allgash wilderness waterway paper map to place the campsites. This map (and the current one in fact) has several campsites located incorrectly. Additionally since the publication of this campsite one of the campsites (East Twin Brook) was moved radically.

I placed the campsites you created more or less at the right place.
changeset/157812286#map=10/46.6828/-69.2349

Additionally I removed any duplicate elements I found (e.g. there were two long lake damp campsites in different locations.)

Thank you for all your good work! I really appreciated all the nice work with strava you did in RMNP as I was doing edits.

FWIW I figured out what I did here. The main change was just to add a bridge when as I was updating roughly the path of the river. When I did that I tweaked slightly a couple nodes around the bridge based on satellite. Since I was doing mostly river work and not trail work, I did the edit without thinking and didn't check strava. That's what I get for being too quick! Thanks again for cleaning up after me.

Yep, mea culpa. It was a bad edit on my part. Thanks for fixing.

I wish I had a clever reason to create a new value, but Occam's Razor rules. It was a typo. Thanks for catching it (and any other cases of my typos.) I updated this way already.

Hi htmoore,

Thank you for you contribution to openstreetmap. I see as part of this change set you added this waterway=river way from saint john to digby.
way/1253095085

it seems like you're trying to represent the Digby-Saint John Ferry route which is already well marked by this route=ferry way
way/243730355

Hello,

thanks for making the update so quickly. I had another look today and it's close, but I think that this way
way/1251207621

is an inner of this natural=wood multipolygon
relation/17223244

when it should be an outer.

Here's the osmi link
https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=-68.14970&lat=45.08031&zoom=19&baselayer=Geofabrik%20Standard&overlays=role_should_be_outer%2Cways

Greetings Necessarycoot72,

I came across this changeset as part of the osmi qa tools flagged an duplicate segment error.
https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=-68.15020&lat=45.08049&zoom=18&baselayer=Geofabrik%20Standard&overlays=duplicate_segment%2Cways

I think the issue is that way100223369 does not, and should not be included in as part of the Relation: Nicatous Lake (1433245) relation/1433245 because it is a peninsula and therefore the way is outside the lake area.

Cheers,

Hey @Adam Franco

Thanks for pointing that out. I proposed that we should exclude the waterway link from the waterway length and end of waterway calculations since it's sole purpose is to have a route-able link for paddle routes.

https://github.com/amandasaurus/waterwaymap.org/issues/34

In the meantime, i reversed this link as anyway it seems to be the convention created by quincylvania and it's functionally identical.

I'll see you there then :-) I'm mostly in maine but i've been remiss in not joining the other new england channels.

145040705 about 2 years ago

thanks for the input. I was starting to go towards more track or path, then decided I didn't have enough on the ground info. so reverted to what was there previously pending some local inquiry (or someone who gets to it before I do.)

Yeah, since then name is the same and the tags don't overlap it makes sense. I merged the two areas in changeset/144980760

I'm happy to help. I'll message you on osm slack.

Hello ConradWard,

Thanks for your contributions to openstreetmap.

I noticed this changeset as some of the relations showed up on osmi as possible errors.
https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=-70.74545&lat=43.96406&zoom=15&baselayer=Geofabrik%20Standard&overlays=duplicate_node%2Csingle_node_in_way%2Cduplicate_segment%2Cway_in_multiple_rings%2Cintersection%2Cintersecting_segments%2Cring_not_closed%2Ctouching_rings%2Crole_should_be_inner%2Crole_should_be_outer%2Cinner_with_same_tags%2Cways%2Cduplicate_node%2Csingle_node_in_way%2Cduplicate_segment%2Cway_in_multiple_rings%2Cintersection%2Cintersecting_segments%2Cring_not_closed%2Ctouching_rings%2Crole_should_be_inner%2Crole_should_be_outer%2Cinner_with_same_tags%2Cways

At a glance, there are a few things you may want to look at.
1) the relation/16218293 is a multipolygon with no other tags (e.g. landuse, forest, etc). That is unusual since it is a now an object that doesn't designate anything. The same could be said for some of the other multipolygons in this region including 16219408. I think they are not really achieving what you had in mind.
2) perly pond way/150511049 (as well as several other ways in this area) is a member of 10 relations, including 3 natural woods and 1 managed forest. I suspect that's a few more than necessary.

Hello,

What is this S.P.A.R.T.N Administrative Boundary? It doesn't seem real. Send me a reference and I'll be happy to put it back.

hi t2editme,

For the 3 ways that are part of the Jay Dam Multi-polgygons I think that you meant to make the roles outer rather than inner.

hi t2editme,

I think in this edit you have the inner and outer polygons roles reversed. You can use some of the validation tools such as OSMI to check your polygons

Hi t2editme,

On this change set, I think you want both buildings to be outer rather than inner.

Hello t2editme,

Can you help me understand why you changed way/1159951756 from natural=wood to place=island? I don't see a reason to remove the landuse tag, and the place=island is redundant with the existing way for Greenlaw island 107263908.

Hello t2editme,

Thanks for your contribution to openstreetmap.

I think if you look atRelation: 15601638 you might find the two inner ways should both be outer ways. Alternatively they could both be simply standalone polygons with amenity=parking rather than part of a multipolygon.
