almost 3 years ago | Actually... just noticed the access=no on this. I'm guessing you're attempting to preserve the continuity of the Historic US 66 relation?
almost 3 years ago | I know from personal experience, but you can check the latest Bing imagery. There is no longer any access from Laurel to 9th Street and vice versa. An underpass was constructed on Laurel just east of 9th for the high speed rail project and the slope made reconnecting the two streets impossible. They've closed it off on both sides of Laurel. Please revert this changeset. Let me know if you need any help.
about 3 years ago | That's very kind of you to say. I did reach out to the OSM US Slack and figured out how to use the reverter plugin in JOSM to revert the changeset. I re-added the MaryFlor restaurant. Also, I saw you tried to put the building parts back so I removed them since mine are back. Everything should be fixed now, and hey, now I know how to revert changesets! Learn something new every day. :)
about 3 years ago | Hey, no worries. My #1 rule with mapping is that if I don't understand it, I leave it alone until I do. I've been doing this nearly 7 years and I'm still afraid to touch bus route relations! Similarly, I've never had to revert anything before either, which is why I'm going to reach out to the OSM US Slack and see if someone there can do it so I don't screw it up. Anyway, it's nice to see someone else editing the Springfield area. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or need help with anything!
about 3 years ago | Kinda put a lot of work into mapping the 3D parts of the Myers Building - https://i.imgur.com/DbUCTwa.png. Any particular reason you deleted them?
about 4 years ago | Hi, just wanted to poke your brain for a bit. I see you're really interested in rail and the like, but I noticed you replaced a bunch of rail infrastructure in Springfield, IL that I had deleted with "railway=abandoned" ways. The flyover I had deleted wasn't abandoned, it was ripped up and hauled off. I watched it, in person, over the course of months. It is entirely gone. So I'm wondering if you're assuming that isn't the case,, or if you KNOW the rail doesn't exist in any shape or form anymore but still want to preserve the history of the rail having been there.
over 4 years ago | Hi there. Active editor in Springfield, IL and service planner for SMTD here. I noticed you'd added SMTD's urbanized area routes and wanted to let you know they've changed. I don't have the knowledge to update them on OSM myself - I'd like to setup some kind of GTFS sync eventually but I'm rather busy these days - so I thought I'd reach out see if you wanted to take a crack at it. You can find the updated UA routes here: http://www.smtd.org/uaroutes If you'd rather work off the GTFS, you can find it here: http://www.smtd.org/gtfs-information/ Have a great day.
over 5 years ago | Thanks for the heads up, got them all fixed now, including the left:type and right:type tags I'd used elsewhere. Very glad I was called out on this early so there wasn't a ton to go back and fix!
over 5 years ago | Wait, nevermind. I see what you're saying now. Will fix ASAP.
over 5 years ago | The first example on the Wiki begs to differ: parking:lane=*#Examples
over 5 years ago | You should not be classifying private driveways and residential streets as golf cart paths. And why are all the nearby houses designated as offices? I suspect that you're mapping for a video game instead of real life, and it's creating a heck of a mess for others to clean up. Please hold off on making such drastic edits until you've acquired the necessary skill and knowledge to do them correctly.
