Le sentier de Marchelies a toujours été public et était d'ailleurs signalé par une panneau de la commune tel quel. Depuis peu on dirait qu'il a été privatisé par la maison voisine du sentier qui a positionné - en venant de la rue Saint-Véron - un panneau "sens interdit" sans plus de précision. Du côté de la rue Matthias il est toujours bien accessible mais les panneaux de fléchages communaux ont été retirés.
